Trauma can be hard to put into words—and that’s okay. EMDR therapy doesn’t rely on talking through every detail of your experiences.

Here’s why EMDR is different:
1️⃣ You don’t have to verbally share every memory for healing to happen.
2️⃣ EMDR focuses on the brain’s natural ability to process trauma without needing to verbalize it.
3️⃣ It’s ideal for those who feel stuck or overwhelmed by traditional talk therapy.

This makes EMDR a compassionate and effective choice for clients who find it difficult to speak about their pain. Healing is still possible—on your terms.

Childhood experiences can shape our lives, especially for moms who have faced violence and abuse in their own pasts. Let's explore how these experiences affect motherhood, their children, and the world.

✨ **Generational Trauma Basics:** Generational trauma, passed down through the family, can impact a mother's ability to parent. It's a cycle that can be tough to break.

🌈 **Human Rights Perspective:** Child abuse and neglect are violations of human rights. These experiences can affect children and their parenting journey.

👩‍👦 **Biological Implications:** Research suggests that maternal childhood trauma can impact children from birth, affecting both their mental and physical health. This raises questions about how trauma is transmitted from one generation to the next.

🧠 **Impact on Brain Development:** Maternal childhood trauma may affect a child's brain structure and development. This can lead to behavioral challenges in children, but the relationship between the two isn't always direct.

🤗 **Attachment Styles:** Attachment styles are shaped in early relationships. When a mother has experienced childhood trauma, her attachment style may influence her parenting style and, in turn, her child's attachment style. Nature and nurture both play a role in this process.

💡 **Implications for Individuals and Families:** Maternal childhood trauma impacts individuals and families daily, leading to generational trauma cycles. Breaking these cycles is possible with the right support.

🚀 **Looking to the Future:** Mothers have a unique power to shape the future. By providing evidence-based support and enacting policies that empower mothers, we can work towards breaking generational trauma cycles and raising healthy future parents.

In the journey of motherhood, we carry the dreams of the future and the echoes of the past. Many of us bear the heavy weight of generational trauma, but here's the incredible truth: we have the power to break the cycle.

💪 Strength in Resilience: Moms, you are the architects of your family's emotional landscape. Your resilience and determination can heal the wounds of the past and pave the way for a brighter, more nurturing future.

💗 Healing Starts with You: By acknowledging the pain of the past, we empower ourselves to create a different story for our children. It begins with our own healing journey and a commitment to provide a loving, safe environment.

🌱 Planting Seeds of Empathy: We can replace fear and pain with love and understanding. Each day, you have the opportunity to teach your children the power of empathy and compassion, ensuring they carry those values forward.

💕 Supportive Communities: Remember, you're not alone on this path. Seek support from fellow moms, therapists, and mentors. Together, we can uplift one another and share the burden.

🌞 A Brighter Tomorrow: Let's break the chains of generational trauma, and nurture a future filled with love, empathy, and resilience. Your journey is a beacon of hope for the generations to come.

So many of us have the overwhelming desire to always do and be everything for everyone. It's okay not to be.
It's okay to ask for help.
It's okay to breathe, to rest, to be✨

Please note: I can not add people to the waitlist before meeting them because I will not ask you to wait for an opening only to find that I am not able to meet your needs.

I appreciate your patience as I work through retuning calls this week📱

The time I have available to return calls is limited and the number of inquiries I’m receiving is growing fast.

Inquiries by email: [email protected]
will have much faster response times and can be followed up with a scheduled phone call if preferred 🗓.

If you’ve called this week and would like a faster response, feel free to send an email also 😁

I’m working on a system that will make this process smoother for all of us, but we aren’t quite there yet.

Thanks for your understanding! ❤️

BIG NEWS: I am now accepting a limited number of in-network insurance clients through Headway.

If you are covered by Aetna, Optum, Oxford Health, or United Healthcare you may be able to use in-network benefits.
I expect to add Blue Cross Blue Shield by November.

Please note I will not be able to accept ALL plans within these companies. Notably excluded: Medicaid, Medicare, and NYSHIP affiliated plans.

or visit Headway: https://headway.co/providers/miranda-rohe?utm_source=pem&utm_medium=direct_link&utm_campaign=33922 to check your benefits.

As you may know, it was not my intention to accept insurance. I prefer providing services out-of-network to best serve my patients. However, I also feel it is important to provide access to care. Working with Headway addresses many but not all of my concerns regarding insurance in my practice. It is important to me that you have the information to make informed choices regarding your care. If you have questions about using insurance and the pros and cons for patients as I see them, I am happy to discuss.
