“Any homework?” Being good enough
This is a question we won’t often hear from a group of people we would expect this relates to, but definitely, this is a question I hear from my clients in my work as a psychotherapist. Often, I hear this at the end of a session, most especially I believe, a session that has impacted them deeply. I would model a calm, soothing and reassuring response, modeling what it means to be “good enough”, and that it is okay to not always strive to be the best and to always be improving yourself.
However, when I read this article, I immediately gave myself homework and thought to myself this list would be a great parting gift for my overachiever clients! So here it is…
