In August of 2023, we had the opportunity to perform a physical for Eddie Schrader, a firefighter, paramedic, father and cancer survivor.

We’re proud to provide comprehensive physicals and health screenings designed specifically for first responders. Our goal is to make proactive health care more accessible to the people who need it most.

Every shift asks something of you. You respond to emergencies, make split-second decisions, and carry the weight of situations most people never experience. Over time, those experiences add up and that's normal. This Su***de Prevention Month, we want to remind every first responder that taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health. Reaching out isn't a sign that you're not strong enough for the job. It's a sign that you're committed to staying healthy, for yourself, your family, your crew, and the people who count on you.

✔ Mandatory work/rest cycles enforced by supervisors
✔ Cool water readily available at every work location, in every patrol unit
✔ Trained personnel who can recognize heat stroke vs. heat exhaustion
✔ Emergency response plan activated when Heat Index ≥ 85°F

An annual physical shouldn't simply check a box. It should answer a much more important question: Can this first responder safely meet the physical demands of the job?
