Coulee Medical Center

Coulee Medical Center We treat their wounds. We deliver their babies. We heal their pain. We nurture their well-being. It is a big responsibility, and one that we are proud to have.

The Coulee Medical Center legacy stretches back more than 70 years to the construction of Grand Coulee Dam and a community need for quality healthcare for the people who built and now operate one of the world’s largest hydroelectric projects. Coulee Medical Center is a 25-bed Trauma Level IV Critical Access Hospital with a very important job: to serve the healthcare needs of our rural community wi

th the best in patient care, medical expertise, and personalized service. Based out of our new state-of-the-art, 66,000-square-foot facility near the famous Grand Coulee Dam, we provide professional medical services to the residents and visitors of the greater Grand Coulee area, the five surrounding counties, and the nearby Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. Because to us, they are more than patients. They are neighbors, friends, family and community. And their health comes first.

Coulee Medical Center is proud to announce that we have once again been recognized by the Washington State Hospital Association with the 2026 Gold Award for Rural Hospital Achievement of Quality Excellence. Making this our second consecutive year receiving the organization's highest level of recognition.

This award recognizes rural hospitals across Washington that demonstrate excellence in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. Hospitals are evaluated on key quality measures, including fall prevention, sepsis care, and opioid harm prevention.

Receiving this honor for a second year is a reflection of the incredible dedication of our entire team. Quality isn't the responsibility of one department, it's the commitment of every employee who works together to provide exceptional care for our patients, families, friends, and neighbors.

To our staff: thank you for the compassion, professionalism, and excellence you bring every day. This achievement belongs to all of you.

And to our community: thank you for trusting us with your care. It is our privilege to serve you.

Congratulations, Team CMC!

Wildfire smoke continues to impact our area, and your health comes first.

If you have asthma, COPD, heart or lung disease, or are especially sensitive to smoke, consider limiting your time outdoors and staying in a clean indoor environment when air quality is poor.

If you have a routine appointment and are concerned about traveling due to the smoke, please call our scheduling team (509-633-6229)to reschedule. We'd rather help you find another time than have you risk unnecessary smoke exposure.

Please remember:
• Stay indoors as much as possible when smoke levels are high.
• Keep windows and doors closed if possible.
• Use an air purifier or create a clean air space if available.
• If you must be outdoors, consider wearing a well-fitting N95 respirator.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or visit the emergency department immediately. Emergency care should never be delayed because of wildfire smoke.

Stay safe, and don't hesitate to call us with any questions about your upcoming appointment.

Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the devastating wildfires in our area.

The loss and devastation caused by these fires has touched so many families across our region. Homes, memories, and livelihoods have been lost, and many individuals are now facing the long journey of recovery.

If you're looking for a way to help, the Cedar Fund has established the official Colville Wildfire Relief & Recovery Fund to provide direct assistance to individuals, families, and communities impacted by the recent wildfires on the Colville Indian Reservation. Donations will help meet immediate needs such as emergency shelter, food, clothing, household essentials, and other critical support, while also helping families begin the process of rebuilding their homes and lives.

Every act of kindness makes a difference. Whether you're able to donate, share this post, or simply keep those affected in your thoughts, your support helps strengthen our community during this incredibly difficult time.

From all of us at Coulee Medical Center, we are keeping everyone impacted in our thoughts and extend our deepest gratitude to the firefighters, first responders, emergency personnel, healthcare workers, and countless volunteers working tirelessly to protect and support our communities.
