Dissociation can look like zoning out… but inside, it can feel like your mind suddenly stepped out of the room.
Maybe things get foggy. Maybe your body feels far away. Maybe you “lose time” and only realize it afterward.
It’s not something people choose.
It’s something the nervous system does when it feels overwhelmed or unsafe, often long before we’re consciously aware of it.
If you’ve experienced this:
You’re not broken.
You’re not “overreacting.”
Your brain is trying to protect you.
Grounding strategies can help in the moment, but real support comes from understanding why it happens and healing what’s underneath it.
You deserve safety, presence, and connection.
If you’ve ever struggled with dissociation, what helps you come back into your body?
If you’d like support navigating this, my door is open.
