VA Western Colorado Health Care System VA Western Colorado Health Care System covers 17 counties in 2 states. The VAMC operates 53 beds comprised of 23 acute care and 30 Transitional Care Unit beds.

The facility serves 15,500+ patients and is the rural VA healthcare system that Veterans choose. The Grand Junction VA Medical Center (VAMC) serves 30,000 veterans residing on the Western Slope. The VAMC consists of one facility located in the city of Grand Junction; a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Montrose, serving the southwestern Colorado counties; and a telehealth outreach clinic

in Craig, serving northwestern Colorado and southwestern Wyoming. The VAMC provides primary and secondary care including acute medical, surgical, and psychiatric inpatient services, as well as a full range of outpatient services.

The goal of this event was to inform Veterans about how to enroll in VA Health Care and highlight our amazing services.

We are so proud of our amazing Veterans who participated in the 2026 National Veterans Golden Age Games, and a big shoutout to our wonderful staff who guide and coach them every step of the way!

This year, VA Western Colorado Health Care System Veterans brought home 22 medals and competed in over 55 events—what an incredible achievement!

The National Veterans Golden Age Games is a fantastic annual multi-sport competition hosted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, helping Veterans 55 and older stay active, healthy, and connected.

Hey Veterans! We’re excited to announce that starting September 16, the Grand Junction Medical Center will be offering flu vaccines in the Main Lobby. The Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) will also be providing vaccines, ensuring more convenient access for everyone.

Flu season is just around the corner, so make sure to protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. For more information or to schedule your vaccine, please contact your primary care team. Let’s work together to stay healthy this season! 💉😊
