Meet Chloe Rittenhouse, our new Clinical Care Coordinator! 💙🏔️

Chloe brings years of experience in education, technology, and operations, along with training in emergency and wilderness medicine. Throughout her career, she’s helped people navigate complex systems and access resources that help them thrive.

Working alongside our providers, Chloe will help families develop care plans centered on each child’s health goals, coordinate care across specialists, and connect with community resources and additional support.

Outside the office, you’ll find Chloe exploring Colorado’s outdoors with her husband and dog! 🐾

This month, we celebrate individuals with Down syndrome and the unique talents, personalities, and perspectives they bring to our communities. It’s also an opportunity to promote inclusion, understanding, and acceptance.

One simple way to participate? Talk to your children about how everyone learns, grows, and experiences the world differently. Encouraging kindness, celebrating differences, and fostering friendships are small steps that can make a lasting impact.

Up to 1 in 20 U.S. school-aged children may have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs). ❤️

At Altitude Pediatrics, we’re raising awareness and encouraging understanding for children and families affected by FASDs.

FASDs are lifelong conditions that can occur following alcohol exposure before birth. They affect each person differently and can impact learning, memory, behavior, and physical health. Many of these challenges aren’t visible.

Children and adults with FASDs deserve compassion and access to services and support that meet their individual needs.

There is no known safe amount, safe time, or safe type of alcohol during pregnancy. Sharing accurate information without judgment helps support healthier pregnancies and more inclusive communities.

Together, we can increase awareness, reduce stigma, and support people with FASDs and their families—all year long.

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

At Altitude Pediatrics we want to emphasize the importance of keeping the conversation around mental health going.

The more comfortable we become talking about mental health, the more we can reduce the stigma around it and create space for kids and teens to share when they may be struggling.

Our Behavioral Health team put together a new Altitude Insights blog breaking down common myths and facts about adolescent depression and su***de, what changes in a teen’s behavior might mean, how to approach conversations about mental health, and what parents and caregivers should know.

We know depression and su***de can be difficult and scary topics to think about, especially when it comes to our own kids. We hope this article can be a helpful resource for your family and make these important conversations feel a little easier.
