🌼💙Asthma and allergies are some of the most common conditions we see in children, and this time of year can be especially challenging for many families.

During Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month, we're helping raise awareness about the importance of recognizing symptoms, identifying triggers, and creating a plan that helps kids stay healthy, active, and feeling their best.

Whether your child is dealing with seasonal allergies, asthma, or both, the Altitude Team is here to support you every step of the way.

We recently celebrated Behavioral Health interns Berit Renfro and Kim Harris as they completed their internships at Altitude Pediatrics with a tie dye party 🎉💜

Over their time with our team, Berit and Kim jumped head first into the world of pediatrics and made a meaningful impact on so many of the patients and families we serve.

As their supervisor Rickelle Hicks shared:
“They did so much work with our wonderful patients and it all mattered and made such a difference. We wish them the best in their future therapy adventures.”

We are so grateful Altitude could be one stop along their journey and can’t wait to see all they accomplish next! Help us wish Berit and Kim well!

Happy National Physical Fitness & Sports Month! ☀️🏃‍♀️⚽

Our team is celebrating by getting moving and having a little fun along the way. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood, shooting hoops in the driveway, riding bikes, or spending extra time outside, every little bit of movement counts.

Physical activity helps kids build healthy habits, confidence, coordination, and strong bodies and it can be a great way for families to spend time together, too. 💙

We hope you find some time this month to get outside, stay active, and enjoy the fresh air!

Summer is around the corner, which means more time outside and a good reminder to stay up to date on the UV Index and what it means for your family ☀️

Here in Grand Junction, higher elevation can mean stronger UV exposure, so a little extra sun protection can go a long way.

Use this quick guide before heading out for summer adventures.⚽️

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month 💙

You may notice blue pinwheels outside our office, a symbol of hope and the safe, happy childhood every child deserves.

These were generously donated by CASA for Mesa County, which provides trained advocates for children experiencing abuse or neglect in our community.

CASA volunteers help ensure each child has a voice and the support they need during difficult times.

Today we recognize World Autism Acceptance Day 💙 a time to move beyond awareness and focus on understanding, inclusion, and support.

At Altitude Pediatrics, we are committed to caring for every child as an individual 🤍 celebrating their strengths, supporting their needs, and partnering with families every step of the way.

Autism is not something to be “fixed.” It is something to be understood and embraced 🌈 When we create spaces where children feel seen, supported, and valued, we help them reach their fullest potential.

Let’s continue to listen, learn, and build a more inclusive community together 💙

Today, on National Cerebral Palsy Day, we’re honored to share Maddie Lopez’s story 💚

Her journey is one of strength, resilience, and perspective, and a reminder of the importance of understanding, inclusion, and support for individuals living with cerebral palsy.

Cerebral palsy looks different for every child and family. By listening, learning, and showing up, we can help create a more inclusive and supportive community for all.

Thank you, Maddie, for sharing your voice and helping raise awareness.
