Bound by Service. Strengthened by Hope.

July was an incredible month at Camp Hope. We celebrated one of our largest graduation classes to date, welcoming 13 Veterans home! Our graduates were comprised of 9 Soldiers, 3 Sailors, and 1 brave Marine. Although the Army dominated in numbers this month, we were thrilled to see three Sailors cross the stage together. The Navy is typically one of the smaller branches represented at Camp Hope. So, this graduation class is symbolic of how Veteran su***de does not discriminate against branch, rank, or deployment location. These men served our country on boats, abroad on land, and overseas. But no matter where they served, each Sailor walked through our gates with a story that was worth fighting for.

With a group this big came a diversity of personalities. From quiet leaders to boisterous delegates, there was never a shortage of motivation to push one another forward. Each day this class pushed harder and held each other accountable. They celebrated together, healed together, and refused to let their battle wounds define them. Friendships were made that will last a lifetime, but what will continue to keep this group connected is the brotherhood they formed.

Every single graduation is a battle won. But when you have 13 men walking across that stage, you not only celebrate each individual but also everything they represent. Those 13 individuals mean 13 families that get their loved one back. 13 futures that can be rewritten. Thirteen stories of HOW Veteran su***de can be prevented.

July 2026 Class, thank you for showing us what perseverance looks like and for leaving your legacy at Camp Hope. You’ve made us stronger by allowing us into your lives, and we will continue to be there should you ever need us. Congratulations on your graduation, and we hope you continue to fight forward.

Semper Fortis, Brothers.

Tune in to this week's Road to Hope Radio as host David Maulsby, Executive Director of the Support & Giving Department for the PTSD Foundation of America | Camp Hope, sits down with Army Veteran Steve Baxter to share his journey of hope and healing.

Steve, a Tomball, Texas native, served in the U.S. Army and deployed to both Romania and Afghanistan. During his seven months in Afghanistan, he experienced daily combat that left lasting invisible wounds and, as he describes it, caused him to lose all sense of emotion. Today, while still early in his healing journey at Camp Hope, Steve says he is grateful for the opportunity to learn something new every day as he works toward recovery.

His story is a powerful reminder that healing is possible and that no Veteran has to face PTSD alone.

Be sure to tune in and hear Steve's inspiring story of resilience and hope.

The Courage to Feel Again

This week on Road to Hope Radio, host David Maulsby sits down with Army Veteran Billy Robinson, a two-time combat Veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Billy arrived at Camp Hope on April 17 carrying the invisible wounds of war. PTSD, depression, alcohol abuse, and the struggle to reconnect with his emotions after years of learning to shut them down.

To do his job in combat, Billy had to turn his emotions off. Over time, that survival skill made it difficult to open up, connect with his wife and friends, or even understand what he was feeling himself.

His journey at Camp Hope has become one of learning that vulnerability is not weakness. Through compassion, self-forgiveness, and EMDR therapy, Billy is beginning to reconnect with the emotions he had buried for years.

During the conversation, Tyrone also opens up about his own journey, sharing the weight of guilt and shame he once carried, and the moment he realized he was not the "worst person in the world."

This is a powerful conversation about combat, healing, vulnerability, forgiveness, and the courage it takes to finally feel again.

Tune in to this week's Road to Hope Radio with David Maulsby and hear Billy Robinson's story of finding hope and healing at Camp Hope. Listen now: https://www.iheart.com/podcast/390-road-to-hope-radio-28216649/

Once a Marine, Always a Marine

This June, Camp Hope had the honor of celebrating the graduation of seven remarkable Veterans, four Marines and three Soldiers. While every graduation class has its own personality, this one carried the unmistakable grit, intensity, and esprit de corps that the Marine Corps is known for.

The Marines may have dominated the numbers this month, but one thing became clear throughout their time in the program: healing doesn't recognize branch lines. Whether they wore the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor or the Army's crossed rifles, these men became brothers united by a common purpose. They challenged one another to be better, refused to let each other settle for less, and built relationships that will last far beyond Camp Hope.

Anyone who has spent time around Marines knows they are fiercely loyal to one another, and this class lived that out every day. Their determination was contagious, their standards were high, and their commitment to seeing one another succeed made a lasting impression on everyone in the program.

Recovery demands a different kind of courage than military service. It requires honesty, humility, and the willingness to ask for help, qualities that every one of these graduates displayed. Watching these men transform over the course of the program has been a privilege for both their peers and our staff.

To our June graduates: thank you for bringing your leadership, your humor, your grit, and your heart to Camp Hope. You've shown that the warrior spirit doesn't end when the uniform comes off; it simply finds a new mission.

Congratulations, brothers. Semper Fidelis, Army Strong, and may you continue to lead lives filled with purpose, hope, and service.
