A reminder from your therapist:
You are allowed to experience joy without feeling guilty.
You don't have to wait until every problem is solved, every goal is reached, or every part of your life feels "put together" before giving yourself permission to smile.
Life can hold both joy and hardship at the same time. You can be navigating grief while laughing with a friend. You can be healing from heartbreak while celebrating a new opportunity. You can be carrying uncertainty while still finding moments of peace.
Sometimes we convince ourselves that joy has to be earned, that we have to accomplish more, fix everything, or stop struggling before we're allowed to enjoy our lives. But joy isn't a reward for having a perfect life.
Joy is one of the ways we sustain ourselves through life's challenges. It reminds us that hope still exists, that beauty can still be found, and that difficult seasons don't get the final word.
Today, give yourself permission to notice what made you smile, laugh a little longer, soak in the sunshine, enjoy the conversation, or simply take a deep breath without rushing to the next thing.
You don't have to postpone joy until life feels perfect.
Flourish from the inside out. ๐ฑ
