❤️ What Is Atrial Fibrillation?
Atrial fibrillation, commonly called AFib, is one of the most common types of irregular heart rhythms.
With AFib, the heart’s upper chambers (the atria) beat irregularly instead of maintaining a normal, steady rhythm. This can cause the heart to beat rapidly, unpredictably, or feel like it is fluttering or racing.
What can AFib feel like?
• Heart racing, fluttering, or pounding
• Irregular heartbeat
• Shortness of breath
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Fatigue or weakness
• Chest discomfort
Some people with AFib don't notice any symptoms at all, which is why recognizing your heart rhythm and keeping up with regular healthcare visits can be important.
AFib can increase the risk of complications, including stroke, so it’s important to talk with your healthcare provider if you notice a new or unusual change in your heartbeat.
💙 Don't ignore changes in your heart rhythm. Understanding AFib is an important step toward protecting your heart health.
