Today I’m stepping away from the endless to-do list and spending the day celebrating my son.

Sometimes we talk about healing as if it only happens during meditation, breathwork, or time alone.

Those things matter.

But so do joy, connection, laughter, community, and making memories with the people we love.

Healing isn’t always found in silence.

Sometimes it’s found in living.

Many people think grounding is supposed to make them feel calm, peaceful, or relaxed.

Sometimes it does.

But that’s not actually the purpose.

Grounding is the practice of bringing your attention back to what is happening right now.

What can you see?

What can you hear?

What can you feel?

What can you smell?

What can you taste?

The goal isn’t to force a different feeling.

The goal is to reconnect with the present moment instead of getting pulled into worry, overwhelm, or what-ifs.

A simple grounding practice:

Pause and name:

• 5 things you can see
• 4 things you can feel
• 3 things you can hear
• 2 things you can smell
• 1 thing you can taste

Have you ever tried this before?

Most people were taught how to manage their thoughts.

Few people were taught how to understand their nervous system.

Over the past several months, I've watched people walk into breathwork skeptical, uncertain, and wondering if something as simple as breathing could really make a difference.

What I've learned is that regulation rarely happens through dramatic breakthroughs.

It happens through small moments of awareness repeated over time.

One breath.
One pause.
One opportunity to listen.

This month's newsletter is a reflection on slowing down, nervous system regulation, and why meaningful change often begins much smaller than we think.

Read the full article below. 🌿

A Note from Amanda Over the last several months, I’ve had the opportunity to introduce breathwork and nervous system regulation to many people who had never experienced it before. I’ve noticed something interesting. When people first walk into a breathwork session, there’s often skepticism. So...

Most people think stress only comes from difficult emotions, relationships, or responsibilities.

But the body experiences stress in many different ways.

Physical stress.
Chemical stress.
Environmental stress.
Mental stress.

Poor sleep.
Constant noise.
Artificial light.
Strong fragrances.
Processed foods.
A nervous system that never gets a chance to fully settle.

Sometimes feeling overwhelmed isn’t a sign that you’re doing something wrong.

Sometimes it’s a sign that your body is carrying more input than it knows what to do with.

Awareness is often the first step.

What is one thing that feels stressful to your body that most people don’t think about?

Spiritual growth is often described through big moments.

Breakthroughs.

Awakenings.

Profound realizations.

But many of the moments that shape us most are much quieter.

A conversation.

A walk.

A moment of laughter.

The sound of rain.

A pause long enough to notice what is already here.

Not every meaningful moment changes your life.

Some simply remind you to be present within it.

What is something ordinary that helps you feel more connected to yourself, life, or Spirit?

Most people are taught how to give advice.

Far fewer people are taught how to ask whether advice is wanted.

When someone shares something difficult, many of us immediately begin looking for solutions.

Sometimes that’s helpful.

Sometimes what a person needs most is space to think out loud, process, or simply feel heard.

One question can change the entire conversation:

“Would you like my thoughts, or would you rather I just listen?”

Neither answer is wrong.

But giving people a choice often creates a very different experience than assuming what they need.

When you’re struggling with something, what helps you more?

Advice or being listened to?
