My most recent handpan lesson with Justin Ezor focused on a “return to home” framework of developing a simple beat to serve as “home” that you come back to after adventuring around the handpan to flow in between notes.

And once again, I find another great life lesson embedded within these lessons and this practice. It’s so critical to strengthen your inner “home” - your heart center and intuition - so that no matter where you adventure, what you experience, who you meet, or what other people tell you, you can always return to your inner home, for direction, discernment, clarity, confidence, love, and peace. I’m grateful to have sound healing in my life and to share it with others because reconnecting with myself through sound has been one of the biggest benefits of this practice on my journey thus far ☀️

It’s always an honor and privilege to serve a group of educators through sound. You teachers out there work so very hard, as I see every day with my boys’ teachers and with my sister who’s been teaching for 20+ years. Your impact and influence expands far beyond what you teach in the classroom. It was a meaningful occasion facilitating a private sound bath for a handful of teachers from National Heritage Academies’ River City Scholars Charter Academy at The Venue at The Candied Yam, especially since the date was 9/11.

We didn’t draw attention to the date, but I held in my heart the emotional and energetic gravity of 9/11. Maybe you still remember where you were and how you felt that day. I remember first watching the news coverage in 9th grade biology and then throughout the day in pretty much every class. Our teachers were thrust into an unprecedented event that was difficult not only for them to comprehend let alone guide all their students through such a traumatic day. That’s what I mean when I say the reach and impact of teachers extend far beyond the textbook. You are our kids’ protectors, cheerleaders, and emotional support when they’re in your care.

Teachers, thank you for a everything you do and going above and beyond to support our kiddos 🩵 ☀️

On Monday, we had 4.
On Saturday, we had 19.

I’m a firm believer in the Divine magic of the Universe working behind the scenes to put the right people, places, objects, situations, experiences, and lessons in our path at the right time so our souls can progress on our individual journeys. I think about what must have shifted in the lives of those beautiful souls to encourage them to buy a ticket to our Summer Slowdown Reiki Sound Bath the week of the event when it had been out there for months. That’s why it was a truly beautiful opportunity to serve the 19 beautiful souls who ended up joining us. We were all meant to be there together to slow down with sound, and slow down we did.

I’m grateful to those individuals for putting their trust in me, Jessie, and our flow, especially since one or both healing modalities were new to many in the group. One first-time sound bath attendee said:

“I was there Saturday being healed by sound. What an awesome experience! It changed my well-being, physically and mentally. If you have not tried this, you need to do so.“

Another attendee with a recent head injury felt immediate relief from physical discomfort and another noted feeling “strong sensations” across his forehead during Reiki with Jessie Lynn. One guest gained clarity around navigating a divorce while multiple others experienced emotional releases (crying). All normal, natural, and beautiful responses that prove everyone experiences a sound healing and Reiki differently, and takes away what they’re meant to.
