If you are coping your way through life, are you truly living it?

Coping skills have a purpose. They help calm your nervous system, get you through difficult moments and give you enough space to keep moving.

But they were never meant to become the only thing you do.

Because when you are constantly using tools to get through the day without exploring why you need them, you are not addressing what is underneath the reaction. You are simply making it manageable enough to continue.

At some point, we have to move beyond, “How do I calm this down?” and begin asking:

Why does this keep coming up in me?
What is my body responding to?
What needs to change?

Coping may help you survive the moment.

But the goal is to eventually feel safe enough to live your life—not just manage your way through it.

Choosing the familiar will trump choosing something that is unfamiliar. This is where comfort lies. In the known. In the expected outcome.

What also lies here is being stuck, not moving forward, no matter how you choose to describe yourself. The current trend is all about personal growth and self-actualization, yet to do so requires you to step outside your comfort zone. To choose something new. To make a change.

Yes, this could lead to discomfort. Yes, it can lead to inconvenience. Yes, it could lead to pain. Name the things.

But what if…

You found happiness.
You found a new interest.
You found a job you love.
You found a new ride or die in your life.
You discovered what makes you happy.
You discovered your purpose in life.

When we avoid, we are giving up what is possible.

Now, take a moment and truly reflect on how you felt when you first heard this quote.

What were your immediate thoughts?
What feelings came up?
Did you agree with it—or did something inside of you push back?

Your response may tell you more about where you are and how you currently see the world than scrolling to the next video ever will.

At Honor Wellness, we help you grow by walking alongside you as you peel back the layers of yourself. Not by telling you who to become, but by helping you recognize what may be keeping you stuck.

If you have been following our content and something in you keeps saying, “This is me,” let’s have a conversation.

Because you are worth more than simply surviving what is familiar.

You are worth exploring the possibilities that lie in front of you—but eventually, you have to be willing to take the first step.

We are creators of our own lived experiences.

If our lived experience is filled with things that fill us up, then our cup is full.

If our lived experience is filled with things that drain us, then our cup feels empty.

We choose what influences our life.

So take a moment to reflect on what you allow to influence your lived experience and ask yourself, “are you worth the influences that you are allowing to shape your life, or do you need to shift? Do you need to be get back in drivers seat and reduce the external noise because it is guiding you into an experience that does not bring you joy?”

It is 100% OK to make a change. It doesn’t mean it’s not hard, doesn’t mean it’s not scary, it just means you’re going to choose something different. And that can lead to something magical.

Friday Perspective:
People give their opinions of what you SHOULD do.
But at the end, they do not live with the consequences or outcomes. You do.
Choose wisely.

Actions speak louder than words.

In a society where we are becoming more withdrawn from others, where social media interactions replace in-person conversations, it has become “easy” to filter ourselves and present a picture that is not truly authentic.

Knowing who you are, what you value, what you are worth takes a deeper conversation than just saying the words. It’s living it. And the most important piece is living it when things get hard or uncomfortable. That is where you see who CURRENTLY you are.

But remember, there is always a choice to shift. You just have to be willing to choose it.

We all have off days, and let’s just call some what they are…we all have sh!tty days.

I’m not here to say that every day is going to be filled with happiness, joy, and everything going “well”.

However, where we put our focus is what makes all the difference. Feel the feelings, find ways to release, process, integrate, all the things we talk about. One of the hardest choices is moving forward and not allowing the “bad” to remain a constant shadow of all the good.

What do you choose?

Numbness is not a super power and it is not feeling anything. It is feeling everything and not knowing what to do with all of it. So you turn everything off, you choke it down.

It’s the “I’m fine” “I’m good”.

I say this as someone who has lived this experience for a majority of my life. As someone who survived by just moving forward. Who literally swallowed everything down because of a variety of reasons:
✔️being too much
✔️not being enough
✔️fear of being judged
✔️feeling guilty
✔️offending others

And more.

Working through the many layers of numbness is not always easy. We are literally walking pressure cookers and to let out a little pressure is hard and relieving at the same time. Hard because we must be vulnerable and willing to feel what we chose not to; relieving because we have more space.

This is the work we do as humans. This is what we choose to step into when we are ready.

And if you’re ready, we got you. Because everyone deserves to live as the human they were put on this earth to be…not some masked version that is “socially acceptable” (in our perspective 😉).

We’re back on the water starting Monday, June 15 at 6:00 PM.

🧘🏻‍♀️ Paddleboard Yoga in Sparta, Michigan

Now, I know some of you are already thinking…

“I’m going to fall.”
“My balance isn’t even great on the mat.”
“Why would I try this on a paddleboard?”

Here’s my response:

Try something new.

The first 15 minutes of class gives you time to simply be on the board. Kneeling, standing, sitting, figuring it out, laughing a little, and getting comfortable with the fact that yes…you are on the water.

Then we move into class slowly.

You’ll start seated or kneeling, and I’ll guide you through options so you can meet yourself where you’re at. This class is meant to challenge your comfort zone, not throw you into something you’re not ready for.

And for the record?

Nobody fell in last year’s classes. Even the people who were convinced they would.

Will you accept the challenge?

Boards are included in your class fee and will be inflated and ready when you arrive.

Bring a water bottle, comfortable clothes you’re okay getting wet, and an open mind.

Classes are held twice a month, with dates listed on our website.

Registration is required due to limited space.
