💜 June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month 💜

This month, we come together to recognize and support the millions of individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

In home health care, we see every day how memory loss impacts more than just the individual—it touches spouses, children, caregivers, and entire families. Simple routines can become challenging, and familiar moments can feel confusing. But with the right support, compassion, and consistency, people living with dementia can continue to experience dignity, comfort, and connection at home.

Ways we support brain health and memory care:
💜 Encouraging familiar routines and environments
💜 Providing patient, consistent caregiving
💜 Supporting medication reminders and daily tasks
💜 Creating safe, calm, and structured home settings
💜 Offering respite and guidance for family caregivers

We also want to encourage everyone to support their own brain health:
🧠 Stay socially engaged
🧠 Keep your mind active with reading, puzzles, or learning
🧠 Prioritize sleep, movement, and nutrition
🧠 Don’t ignore memory or cognitive changes—talk to a provider early

If you or a loved one needs support at home, we’re here to help. 💜

As Michigan finally starts feeling like summer, we’re celebrating all the simple joys that help our seniors stay happy, healthy, and connected. ☀️

What’s your favorite fresh fruit or vegetable this time of year? 🍅🌱

Spring has finally arrived here in Michigan, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome the sunshine, fresh air, and blooming flowers 🌷☀️

There’s something so special about this time of year—longer days, warmer weather, and the perfect excuse to get our hands a little dirty in the garden. Whether it’s colorful flowers, fresh herbs, or homegrown veggies, gardening is such a wonderful way to relax, stay active, and enjoy the beauty of the season.

At Elders’ Helpers, we love seeing our clients embrace the joys of spring—whether that’s tending to a garden, sitting outside with a cup of coffee, or simply soaking up the sunshine.

🌱 What are you planting this year? Flowers, tomatoes, herbs, or something new? We’d love to hear what’s growing in your garden!

Happy Spring from all of us at Elders’ Helpers 💚

Medication routines can become complicated over time, especially when prescriptions change or multiple doctors are involved.

Even small mix-ups can affect health and well-being. That’s why simple systems can make such a difference:
• Pill organizers or medication trays
• Written medication schedules
• Support from caregivers or nurses
• Medication management services when needed

Staying organized helps older adults remain confident and independent in their daily routines. 💬 Question: What has helped your family stay organized with medications?

Care isn’t always about medical needs. Often, the most meaningful support comes through companionship.

A conversation over coffee, running errands together, playing cards, or simply sitting and listening can brighten someone’s day. For many older adults, social connection is an important part of emotional and mental well-being.

When seniors have regular interaction and meaningful connection, it can reduce feelings of loneliness and help maintain a strong sense of purpose and belonging.
