Tonight, I’m hosting the Love After Birth Healing Circle through the Irth App from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Eastern Time.

This is a virtual postpartum support space for moms and birthing people who need a moment to pause, reflect, and be in community. We’ll be having real conversations about motherhood, identity, healing, and the transitions that come after birth.

You do not have to have it all together to show up. Come as you are.

To join, download the Irth App, create a free account, go to Events, and select Love After Birth Healing Circle.

I would love to see you tonight.

Did you know elephant herds are led by a matriarch, a woman who protects, guides, and cares for the community? 🐘🫶🏾🤎❤️

Sounds a lot like mothers to me.

Happy Mother’s Day, and thank you to everyone supporting our girls at Alger Middle School through our donation drive.

Another impactful week onsite at Alger Middle School with the girls at LeadHERship Impact .
We explored what it means to be a team through conversation, reflection, and a hands-on challenge. Inspired by She Leads: The Elephant Matriarch, we talked about how elephant matriarchs lead with memory, wisdom, and care guiding and protecting the group, especially in times of need.

The girls put it into practice by building the tallest tower no talking, minimal materials. It stretched them and highlighted trust, patience, and collaboration.
Real leadership in action.

Grateful to have participated in the Health is Wealth Conference. Shoutout to the organizer, William Braylock, for creating space for important conversations around youth mental health.

It was a pleasure facilitating “Peace Over Perfection, Grace Over Grind” with Shy Williams, connecting with students from Alger Middle School and Ottawa Hills High School. Grateful to connect with them.

Pouring into the next generation is always worth it. 🙏🏾❤️

Forever grateful to serve my community. Thank you to Our Mental Health Collective for highlighting me alongside so many incredible social workers during Social Work Appreciation Month.

“Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth.” — Shirley Chisholm

As a Black woman in social work, this work is deeply personal. My journey has allowed me to walk alongside many communities—from early childhood students and K–12 youth, to young adults navigating college and life transitions, to parents and mothers, adults rebuilding their lives, and members of our geriatric community.

Every story, every interaction, every moment of trust reminds me why this work matters. Grateful for the opportunity to serve, advocate, and walk with people through healing and growth.

This month, we celebrate the dedication, compassion, and impact of social workers who tirelessly advocate for individuals, families, and communities. Their work goes beyond support and foster healing environments that empower and create lasting change in the lives of those they serve. From mental health care to crisis intervention, social workers play a vital role in ensuring equity, access, and hope for all.
To all the social workers making a difference every day, we appreciate you and honor the incredible work you do.
