Ten years ago, Robert Barrera came to Mary Free Bed for rehabilitation after losing his leg. This weekend, he's taking on the KeyBank Gran Fondo alongside his sister, Grand Rapids content creator Cierra Barrera, for the ride of a lifetime. 💚

Together, they're raising funds to support Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports, helping others discover what’s possible through adaptive recreation. We're proud to be part of Robert's journey.

What a night! 🎉

This week, Mary Free Bed at Kalamazoo hosted its very first Patient Reunion Celebration, and it was one for the books!🤩

Patients, team members and community partners came together for an evening of celebration and BIG WINS. Nearly 30 former patients reunited with their therapy teams, sharing stories, milestones and plenty of smiles along the way.

A moment of gratitude for everyone who joined us and made the evening so special.🧡

As they begin the next chapter of their careers, we’re cheering them on every step of the way. 👏

In true Mary Free Bed fashion, the celebration ended with one of our favorite traditions ... firing the cannon! 💥

Today, we came together to celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors freedom, resilience and progress.

Hosted by our Black Collective Employee Resource Group and sponsored by the Mary Free Bed TOGETHER Council, today’s celebration provided an opportunity to learn about the significance of June 19, 1865, while enjoying traditional Jubilee Day snacks and meaningful conversations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us as we reflected on this important part of our nation's history and celebrated the perspectives that strengthen our Mary Free Bed community. 💚💛 ❤️

Talk about showing off. 😎⛳

On Hole 17 at the Mary Free Bed Open, golfers had the chance to “Pay a Pro” and let Jimmy Moceri take a swing. Jimmy is an adaptive golf champion and a member of the Mary Free Bed Wheelchair Basketball Team. He brought the energy of a champion all day long.⛳️🏆

Jimmy sank a hole-in-one for Dan Vaughan, a member of the Mary Free Bed Board, creating one of the most unforgettable moments of an incredible day on the course. 🧡🎉

With Ms. Wheelchair America returning to Grand Rapids in August, Latavia reflects on accessibility, resilience and using her voice to open doors for others. The national competition, presented by the Mary Free Bed Guild, continues to elevate stories like hers and the impact behind them. It’s a thoughtful conversation about purpose, possibility and what it looks like to move forward with hope. 🌟

🎡 Step right up! We brought the carnival to Mary Free Bed! 🎠

What better way to kick off summer than with a day full of fun, laughter and unforgettable memories? Patients and their families enjoyed plenty of carnival magic, including face painting, animal encounters, prizes and sweet treats!
