The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost often comes to mind when I'm sitting with uncertainty or standing at the edge of something new.
Anxiety has a way of convincing us that if we just think a little harder, plan a little more, or prepare for every possible outcome, we'll finally feel safe. It invites us to overthink instead of experience.
This poem gently offers another way.
What if uncertainty wasn't something to conquer, but something to meet with an open hand? What if the unknown wasn't only a place of fear, but also a place where growth, connection, and possibility quietly wait?
What might you discover if you chose the road less traveled?
Perhaps the path ahead won't be predictable—but it might be the one that helps you become more fully alive. Where in your life are you being invited to trust the unknown?

At The Family Therapy Place, we know that when a child is struggling, the whole family feels it. And while it’s natural to want to come together to fix things, sometimes the most powerful place to begin is with giving your child a space that is truly their own.

Our therapists who specialize in working with children are deeply attuned to the emotional world kids live in and what they say, what they don’t say, and all the ways they communicate in between. Through play, creativity, and connection, we help children feel safe enough to express what’s been hard to put into words.

At the same time, you’re not left out of the process. Our team works collaboratively and thoughtfully behind the scenes, supporting you as a parent and helping you understand your child in new, meaningful ways. When the time is right, we can gently guide the transition into more shared, relational work without rushing the process.

Whether your child needs their own space, your family is working toward coming together, or both, we hold it all with care.

Because when a child feels seen, supported, and safe to be themselves, healing begins and the whole family can start to move forward together.
