Bravin first developed clubfoot when he was four years old. Clubfoot is a condition that curves the feet inward and affects the bones, muscles, tendons, and blood vessels. His mother, Phanice, waited a year, hoping it would correct itself on its own. It didn't.
Everything changed when Phanice met a Community Health Volunteer at their church. This health volunteer told her about CURE Children's Hospital of Kenya. A mobile clinic was coming to their area, and when Bravin and Phanice arrived, the team delivered news they weren't expecting: his condition was treatable through surgery, and it would cost them nothing as the bill was fully covered by generous donors from all over the world!
For Phanice, a small-scale farmer who grows just enough to feed her family, that mattered. Paying for the bus ticket to the clinic had already been a stretch.
What followed was months of care: rounds of casting to prepare his leg for surgery, a successful operation, and a recovery marked by both hard days and moments of real joy. Through it all, Bravin held onto his faith, his gratitude, and his dream of becoming an electrician. Today, Bravin is completely clubfoot-free!
