Hello friends!!!

I am so sorry we have been a little silent, its been busy over here between chemo, work, summer, other kiddos, but I am super excited to share some things!

August 3rd, we traveled to Grand Rapids, where we were accessed, and given our first dose of chemo through our port. Day 1 chemo is generally like a 5 hour ordeal, it is downright EXHAUSTING, but day 2, we got to try something "brand new"!

While i didnt get pictures of it, Oliver is now receiving SUBCUTANEOUS injection of his cyterabine in his thighs!!!!! Very similar to an insulin injection!

So, what does this mean you ask. Well 4 out of 5 days will be administered in his thigh, his port will not remain accessed while home, and he wont have to miss as much school!!

This is a HUGE win! His port has given us so many obstacles over thw last.few months that I am ready for it to be out of his chest.

Oliver and his brothers, also got to go to mom's work, to family/safety day, and he got to pretend to be a lineman!

The other SUPER exciting thing, is Oliver was granted a wish to give kids the world in Florida. We will be headed there sometime late April early may sometime! His wish is to meet Stitch in real life! I am already stressed, but will be starting to get him and the family all the thinga to make this trip unforgettable for all 6 of us!

For now, that's our update! ❤️❤️

While this is not for Oliver, the Lotz family went through a tremendous loss, while oliver was in the hospital the first time.

While they were dealing with a parents worst nightmare of the loss of their son, both Brittanie and Michael were reaching out to me and Andrew and asking all of the questions about Oliver.

So now, I am asking for help from all of Olivers supporters! Since we have not finalized the type of benefit we are wanting to do for Ollie, id love to get all the support for the Lotz family!

On August 22nd the family is doing a 3D Archery Shoot for their son, and his bestfriend whom also lost his life at a young age!

I am asking for any and all donations for a silent auction - if donations are not an option for you, please join if you could!

Update: good news fom his AMAZING oncologist and oncology team..

We do not have to drive to Grand Rapids for him to be reaccessed. Due to him being in remission, he has not had any illnesses, there is no reason that we cant just forego these last two doses of this treatment!

In the last 5 months, we have had issues with his port 4 times. Out oncologist is wanting to find something that will be beneficial for not only oliver but also us, as coming home and administering 2 days of chemo each month is great, but becomes very stressful when we cant truly administor it.

Now the interesting thing. The makers of his chemo - (cyterabine) they have since June 30th came out with a subcutaneous method of administoring, so that could be a potential! If his port only needs to be accessed for blood draws that might stop the issues we're having with his port!

So for now, we pray, and continue living as if CANCER hasnt rocked our entire life. While getting terrible news daily!!!

Thankful for all my out there who send us letters, we have sent us gifts, and who continuously support our boy.

Thinking about a benefit soon, as once he is done with this round of chemo, this doesnt stop his never ending appointments, doesnt stop his blood draws, and unfortunately doesnt stop the LCH from returning.

Part of me, hates coming home to administor chemo. Here we are trying to administer his Thursday dose and his port has a blockage. So here we are waiting for the oncologist to pull it out and discontinue remainder of this week's treatment or to find out we have to drive to grand rapids

Day 2:
Lots of nausea, and saying his belly hurts. Doesn't want to eat, very tired but he ate about 4 bites or mom's chicken and rice bowl!!

I swear day 1 and 2 take the most out or us.

Here is a rundown of today.

8am : wake up (for him, more like 715 for mom)
830: bath
915: breakfast
945: clinic
220pm: leave clinic
250: get back to the hotel after getting a snack
310 lay down to watch a movie
515: talk to Gramma J, and fall asleep while on the phone

So here we are at 530 pm, ollie just fell asleep for god knows how long.
