Overdose Awareness: One Life Is Worth Fighting For 💜

Today, I want to take a moment to bring awareness to overdose and the lives it continues to impact.

Behind every overdose is a person. A person with a story, a family, people who love them, and a life that matters. And behind every loss is a family and community left carrying the weight of that loss.

Overdose does not discriminate. It can touch any family, any community, and any person.

This is why awareness matters. Education matters. Naloxone matters. Knowing the signs of an overdose and knowing how to respond can save a life.

But beyond all of that, compassion matters.

People struggling with substance use need to know they are still worthy of love, support, and another chance. Recovery is possible, and sometimes that first step is simply having someone say, “I’m glad you’re here. Let’s figure this out together.”

If you have lost someone to overdose, please know that your grief matters too. If you are struggling right now, please know that your life matters.

One conversation can make a difference.
One dose of naloxone can save a life.
One person choosing to stay can change a family forever.

Let’s keep talking. Let’s keep learning. Let’s keep showing up for one another. 💜

9/15/2026- we will be having fresh food distribution sponsored by Grand Ronde Health and Wellness Center. Boxes are available (first come-first served). Distribution begins at 10am and will run until for 2pm or whenever all of the boxes have been distributed (whichever comes earlier). Distribution will be at the GR procurement building (map in comments). One food box per tribal member household (tribal member must be present). We have a permission slip pick up option which is in the comments (2 permission slips, per vehicle totaling 3 boxes maxim box per vehicle). Distribution will also be at the CTGR Portland office. List of what will be in the boxes will be released closer to distribution day.
