πŸ’™ LIFE AFTER NICU: SAFE, LOVED & CONTENT πŸ’™

Sometimes there really isn't much that needs to be said...

Just look at this sweet little face. πŸ₯ΉπŸ’™

Snuggled safely in the arms of someone who loves him, completely content and without a care in the world.

There is something so precious about his innocence. Wyatt has no idea just how many mountains he's already climbed or how many people have prayed for him, cheered for him, and fallen completely in love with him.

He just knows he's warm, he's safe, and he's loved. πŸ’™

And we do have a little bit of GOOD NEWS to share!

Since lowering Wyatt's oxygen support, he has been adjusting beautifully. His oxygen levels are staying up and, so far, no low-oxygen alarms! πŸ™Œ

That's exactly what we were hoping to see.

We're taking it one dayβ€”and one breathβ€”at a time, but today we're simply enjoying this peaceful little moment and celebrating another step forward.

Keep breathing strong, little warrior.

For now, you just keep doing what you're doing...

Growing, getting stronger, and soaking up all those snuggles. πŸ’™

πŸ’™πŸ‘ **LIFE AFTER NICU: BREATHING TOWARD ANOTHER BIG MILESTONE** πŸ‘πŸ’™

We have some pretty exciting news about our little warrior! πŸ’™

Wyatt had his respiratory appointment yesterday, and overall, **it went really well!**

First things first... somebody is GROWING!

Our little man is officially **13 lbs. 7.2 oz. and 22.5 inches long!** πŸ’™

But the really exciting part came during his **room-air test.**

Wyatt was taken off his supplemental oxygen to see how he would do breathing completely on his own. And guess what?

**He went several minutes without his oxygen levels dropping!** πŸ™ŒπŸ’™

Because he did so well, his respiratory team has given Mom and Dad the okay to begin decreasing the amount of supplemental oxygen he's receiving.

Now comes another little challenge for our warrior...

If Wyatt can make it through **three full days without any low-oxygen alarms**, they'll be able to try another room-air test at home. If he continues doing well, they can gradually work toward lowering his oxygen even more.

The goal?

**Eventually... NO oxygen at all.** πŸ₯ΉπŸ’™

We're not there quite yet, and nobody is rushing him. They'll continue following his medical team's plan and watching him closely, with another respiratory appointment coming up in September.

But this is PROGRESS.

For a little boy who entered this world needing so much help just to breathe, watching him begin to do more and more of that work on his own is something pretty incredible.

We've learned throughout Wyatt's journey not to get too far ahead of ourselves...

But we're definitely allowing ourselves to celebrate this one. πŸ’™

So come on, little warrior...

**Three good days. One breath at a time.**

Your entire cheer team is rooting for you!

πŸ’™πŸ‘ LIFE AFTER NICU: LOOK WHO'S GETTING STRONGER! πŸ‘πŸ’™

Look who's starting to hold his head up! πŸ₯ΉπŸ’™

Our little warrior continues to get stronger, and we're seeing new things from him all the time.

One of the newest things Wyatt is working on is tracking voices. When he hears someone he knows talking, you can watch him turn his head and try to find exactly where that familiar voice is coming from.

And there are definitely a few voices he knows VERY well...

Mom and Dad, of course.

Great-Aunt Shelly.

But then there's Big Sis Bailey. πŸ’™

Wyatt really seems to know that voice! He'll track Bailey when she's talking and loves watching her when she's nearby.

And playtime with his big sister? That's becoming a favorite around here. πŸ’™

His personality is showing more and more every single day. More smiles, more interaction, more curiosity... and more little glimpses of the boy he's becoming.

After everything Wyatt has been through, there is something incredibly special about getting to celebrate milestones like these.

Holding his head up.

Tracking the familiar voices of the people he loves.

Playing with his sister.

Just growing, learning and being a baby. πŸ’™

These are the moments we dreamed about during those long NICU days.

Keep getting stronger, little warrior. And keep watching that big sister of yours...

Something tells us she's going to teach you ALL kinds of things Mom and Dad would rather she didn't. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰πŸ’™

πŸ’™ **LIFE AFTER NICU: ANOTHER EYE CHECK** πŸ’™

Our little warrior had another follow-up eye appointment, and we have a small update to share.

Wyatt is still showing some blood in his **right eye**, so his doctors want to continue keeping a close watch on it. He'll head back in a few weeks so they can check his eye again and look closely for any signs of scarring.

One little problem...

Apparently Wyatt didn't get the memo that you're supposed to cooperate during an eye exam. πŸ˜‚

Because it's difficult for the doctors to get a good enough look while keeping his eyes open, there is a possibility they may need to put him under anesthesia for a more thorough examination.

For now, though, we're back to something we've become pretty familiar with throughout Wyatt's journey...

**Waiting, watching, and taking things one appointment at a time.** πŸ’™

The good news is that his doctors are continuing to follow him closely, and we're thankful for that.

Meanwhile, Wyatt continues doing what Wyatt does bestβ€”growing stronger, showing off that personality, smiling, laughing, playing, and reminding everyone that he has his own ideas about how things should be done. πŸ˜‰

Thank you for continuing to keep our little warrior in your thoughts and prayers. We know we've said it many times, but having so many people continuing to cheer him on means more to our family than you could ever know.

One appointment at a time, little man.

You've already shown us just how much fight you've got. πŸ’™

πŸ’™πŸ‘ LIFE AFTER NICU: 6 MONTHS & MAKING HIS OWN DECISIONS πŸ‘πŸ’™

Guess who is 6 MONTHS OLD?! πŸŽ‰πŸ’™

Our little warrior is growing, getting stronger, and showing us more of that personality every single day.

And apparently turning 6 months old came with a promotion...

Wyatt has decided he's a big boy now and no longer needs his NG tube. πŸ˜‚

At least, that's what Wyatt thinks.

For those who aren't familiar with it, Wyatt's NG (nasogastric) tube goes through his nose and into his stomach. If he doesn't finish his bottle, the remainder of his feeding can be given through the tube to make sure he's getting all the nutrition he needs. It's also used to give him his medications.

Well...

Wyatt apparently reviewed the situation, consulted absolutely no one, and took it upon himself to remove it. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

Sir. That was not your decision to make.

We love the confidence, though. πŸ˜‰

Aside from Wyatt practicing medicine without a license, he's doing great and his little personality is coming out more and more.

He's laughing more.
He's smiling at you more.
He loves to play.

And he's becoming more interactive with the people he knows and loves.

And as far as being put down?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. πŸ˜‚

Wyatt remains firmly convinced that someone should be holding him approximately 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Apparently, after everything he's been through, he has decided that being held isn't a luxury...

It's a requirement. πŸ˜‚πŸ’™

And you know what? After spending the beginning of his life surrounded by hospital beds, wires, tubes, and monitors, maybe we can't blame him for wanting all those extra snuggles.

Six months ago, Wyatt entered this world at just 1 lb. 1 oz.

Today, he's laughing, playing, smiling, snuggling... and apparently making his own healthcare decisions.

We'll take it. πŸ’™

Happy 6 Months, little warrior!

Keep growing.
Keep laughing.
Keep showing us that personality.

But maybe...

leave the NG tube alone. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

πŸ’™πŸ‘ LIFE AFTER NICU: FINDING HIS VOICE πŸ‘πŸ’™

It's amazing how quickly life can change.

Not too long ago, every little sound Wyatt made was hidden behind machines, monitors, and oxygen.

Now...

Our little warrior is discovering something new...

His voice. πŸ’™

He's becoming more and more talkative, especially with the people he knows and loves the most.

If you listen closely to this video, you might even catch a couple of tiny little laughs.

Trust us...

Those little giggles are music to our ears. πŸ₯Ή

Life is settling into a wonderful routine, and Wyatt continues to grow stronger every day. He's also starting to sleep better through the nightβ€”which is something Mom and Dad are definitely celebrating too! 😊

These may seem like ordinary milestones.

But for a little boy who entered this world at just 1 pound 1 ounce, they're extraordinary.

Every coo.
Every smile.
Every little laugh.

They're all reminders of just how far our warrior has come.

Thank you for continuing to celebrate these beautiful moments with our family. We love sharing this new chapter with all of you, because you've been part of Wyatt's story from the very beginning.

Keep talking, little warrior.

We can't wait to hear everything you have to say. πŸ’™

πŸ’™πŸ‘ LIFE AFTER NICU: A HUGE MILESTONE! πŸ‘πŸ’™

Today was one of those days we'll never forget.

Wyatt drank his very first FULL bottle... all 90 mL! πŸΌπŸ’™

No feeding tube. No finishing what he couldn't. Just our little warrior doing it all by himself.

For most babies, finishing a bottle is just another feeding.

For Wyatt... it's months of hard work, determination, and countless little victories leading to this moment.

And as if that wasn't enough to celebrate...

He's officially 12 pounds! πŸ’™

From a tiny 1 pound, 1 ounce miracle fighting for every breath, to a smiling, growing little boy who's reaching milestone after milestone.

We couldn't be more proud of you, Wyatt.

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray, cheer him on, and celebrate these moments with our family. Your love has been part of his journey from the very beginning, and we can't wait to share many more milestones with you.

One bottle. Twelve pounds. Countless reasons to celebrate. πŸ’™

πŸ’™πŸ‘ LIFE AFTER NICU: LEARNING THE LITTLE THINGS πŸ‘πŸ’™

Life has settled into a routine, and every day Wyatt is getting a little bigger, a little stronger, and a little more curious about the world around him.

The biggest change lately?

His personality is really starting to shine! πŸ’™

As you'll see in this video, bath time has quickly become one of Wyatt's favorite part of daily life. Dad has even started teaching him how to splash the water. Wyatt may not have mastered it just yet, but he sure seems to enjoy the lessonβ€”and all the smiles that come with it.

It's moments like these that remind us just how far he's come.

Not long ago, every day revolved around monitors, oxygen levels, medications, and feeding schedules.

Now, we're celebrating bath time, smiles, and a dad showing his little boy how to splash in the tub.

These moments may seem ordinary, but to our family, they're extraordinary.

Thank you for continuing to follow Wyatt's journey and celebrate each milestone with us. Watching him grow stronger, happier, and more expressive has been the greatest gift.

Here's to more smiles, more lessons, more memories, and more moments that remind us how precious this journey truly is. πŸ’™

πŸ’™πŸ‘ LIFE AFTER NICU: THE WAITING GAME πŸ‘πŸ’™

Yesterday, Wyatt had his follow-up appointment in Spokane to check on his hernias.

For now... we're playing the waiting game.

His doctors would like to wait until Wyatt is completely off oxygen before moving forward with surgery. They believe that waiting will give him the best opportunity for a smoother recovery.

Right now, one of the hernia's (he has two) remains about the size of a tennis ball, so it's definitely noticeable. While it can look alarming, his medical team is keeping a very close eye on it and feels that waiting a little longer is the safest plan.

We'll head back in a couple of weeks for another evaluation to see if Wyatt is ready for the next step.

As much as we'd love to have another hurdle behind us, we've learned that Wyatt has always done things on his timeline.

From the day he arrived far too early, he's shown us that patience is part of this journey.

So that's exactly what we'll do.

We'll keep feeding him, loving him, cheering him on, and letting him grow stronger one day at a time.

As always, thank you for continuing to pray for our little warrior and follow along with this next chapter of his story. Your encouragement means more than you'll ever know.

One appointment at a time.
One day at a time.
One little warrior who's getting stronger every single day. πŸ’™
