Farm Kids Farm and nature-based programming for kids (Handwriting Camp and Fun on the Farm sessions) developed by Paula Metling, Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Offering an eight session handwriting camp targets the foundational skills necessary for handwriting through seasonal outdoor activities and multisensory handwriting practice. The camp includes pre- and post-test handwriting assessments to measure progress. Programming is developed by licensed occupational therapist Paula Metling. New Fun on the Farm is a flexible program of one to two hour sessio

ns starting with a farm chore followed by the child's choice of a variety of nature-based activities. Options include animal care, gardening, nature hikes, tree climbing, building forts, fun with hay/straw bales, nature crafts, outdoor games, light woodworking projects, baking, and more.

Ahh, summer. We’ve slowed down to notice the wonders of nature. We’ve cared for the goats and hens. We loved sampling wild black raspberries and cooling off with root beer floats. We engaged our muscles to make butter. And we’re starting to harvest the fruits of our labor!

There are a LOT of birds on their way through the state right now. Minnesota Bird Coalition estimates 26.6 million! For too many, light pollution could be the reason they never reach their destination.

Verner had a pretty big abscess under his chin, probably from a little injury. The vet drained it and gave him antibiotics. He’ll be good as new soon! He had a temporary bandage for the ride home because it was stinky!
