Perkins County Veterinary Hospital is a full-service pet hospital and boarding facility. The hospital was opened in 2000 by Shannon Jensen, DVM.

The staff at Perkins County Veterinary Hospital prides itself on patient care by taking the time to get to know you and your pet. A full range of services are offered including preventative health care, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, reproduction, treatment of illness and minor and major surgical procedures. PCVH is a small animal veterinary hospital that treats cats, dogs and also some po

cket pets and exotics. The Perkins County Veterinary Hospital is a companion animal hospital loacted in southwest Nebraska. Dr. Jensen is a graduate of Colorado State Univeristy with an undergratuate degree in Equine Science. We are a companion animal hospital, that is dedicated to a variety of domesticated animals such as dogs, cats, horses, birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters to name a few. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house radiograph and ultrasound capabilities, in-house blood testing and lab, a closely supervised hospitalization area, a grooming facility, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor exercise pen. We also work closely with CSU for referrals when needed. At the Perkins County Veterinary Hospital we strive to provide optimal medical care and compassion to help you give your pet the best quality of life. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy. We treat your pets as if they are our own. Perkins County Veterinary Hospital also offers dog and cat boarding and grooming services. Emergency services are provided and a veterinarian can be contacted 24 hours, 7 days a week in case of a pet emergency.

If you know us, you know we have a soft spot (okay… a BIG soft spot 😍) for our squishy-faced friends—especially **French Bulldog**s!

🪳 Flea Alert! 🪳

We officially spotted our first flea of the season… and it’s much earlier than we usually see them!

With the unusually warm and dry winter we’ve had, parasites like fleas are getting a head start this year — which means our pets are at risk sooner than normal.

The best way to deal with fleas? Prevention, prevention, prevention. ✔️
Once fleas get established, they can be frustrating (and expensive) to eliminate from both your pet and your home.

Keep your pets protected by staying consistent with monthly flea preventatives. Even if you haven’t started yet this year, now is the time!

✨ Help us welcome a new face to the hospital — Savannah! ✨

Savannah is a wonderful addition to our team and brings a true passion for animals with her. She graduated from Holyoke and is currently working toward becoming a licensed veterinary technician through Penn Foster College.

When she’s not at the clinic, Savannah stays busy at home with her husband and two kids — and quite the crew of animals! She has five dogs, two cats, and even an assortment of goats and rabbits 🐾

We are so excited to have Savannah on our team and know you’ll love getting to know her just as much as we have. Be sure to say hello next time you’re in! 💙
