🧠 Weekend Wellness | Mental Health Tips for Students

As a new school year approaches, it's important to remember that taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

Simple habits like getting enough sleep, taking breaks, staying connected with people you trust, and showing yourself kindness can help you feel more prepared for the challenges of school and everyday life.

Remember—you don't have to have everything figured out. If you're feeling overwhelmed, reach out to a trusted adult, teacher, school counselor, or someone who cares about you. Asking for support is a sign of strength.

💧 Weekend Wellness | Hydration for Student Athletes

Whether you're heading to practice, training for a new season, or cheering from the sidelines, hydration plays an important role in helping student athletes perform their best and stay safe.

Getting enough fluids before, during, and after activity can help support energy, focus, endurance, and recovery.

A few simple habits can make a big difference:
💧 Drink water throughout the day.
🏃 Take hydration breaks during practice.
🥪 Refuel with a healthy snack after activity.
🚨 Know the signs of dehydration and don't ignore them.

Parents, coaches, and athletes all play a role in building healthy hydration habits.

🥪 Weekend Wellness | Healthy School Lunches

As students head back to school, packing a balanced lunch can help provide the energy they need to learn, play, and stay focused throughout the day.

A healthy lunch doesn't have to be complicated. Try including:
🥪 A source of lean protein
🍎 A fruit
🥕 A vegetable
🌾 A whole grain
💧 Water to stay hydrated

Remember, every family is different. Small, realistic changes can make a big difference over time. Packing lunches your child enjoys and will actually eat is just as important as making them nutritious.
