Why horses?

It's a question we get asked a lot.

At RRMH, we see people who have spent a lot of time talking about what they're going through. They often know what they "should" do or how they "should" feel, but knowing something and experiencing it are two different things.

Horses give us an opportunity to move beyond just talking about things and actually practice them. Setting boundaries, building trust, managing frustration, asking for what we need, or simply learning to be comfortable in our own skin.

It's not about horses magically fixing anything. It's about creating opportunities for people to experience something different, feel connection and get feedback from non-judgmental beings, and carry that into the rest of their lives.

Want to give back to a local program that you can see the direct results of your money?

Think about donating to the scholarships for our upcoming Healing After Su***de Loss group on Nov. 7th. We have had many (5+) people express a need for this support but who do not have the funds to pay for this special group. We would love to fill this group with people who are navigating su***de loss and are in need of community support, connection with others and the healing connection horses can offer.

$250 supports one participants 6 hour trauma-informed, equine-assisted healing group, as well as their lunch.

Any partial scholarships are encouraged as well! Together, we can help people get the support they need.

“According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), su***de rates have increased 35% since 1999. When su***des increase, so do the number of loss survivors who need support. Most who have experienced su***de loss say they never knew such pain existed – yet society is largely unaware of the of the degree to which survivors are impacted.”

Healing After Su***de Loss: A Day of Connection, Support, and Healing

Grief after losing someone to su***de can feel incredibly isolating. We want those navigating this kind of loss to know they don't have to do it alone.

On November 7th, Ruby Ranch Mental Health is hosting a one-day therapeutic group for adults who have lost a loved one to su***de.

Through connection with horses, guided trauma processing, and time spent with others who understand this unique kind of grief, we hope to create a safe and supportive space for healing.

❤️ We are also looking for community sponsors!

We know that cost can be a barrier to receiving support, and we don't want finances to be the reason someone misses this opportunity.

We are seeking individuals, businesses, and organizations who would be willing to help cover the cost of participation for someone in need.

$250 sponsors one participant
$125 covers half a scholarship

What a beautiful day of community, connection, and hope!

We are feeling incredibly grateful for everyone who came out Saturday to support our su***de prevention event!

To every volunteer, business, sponsor, community organization, and individual who helped make this day possible, THANK YOU!

Our hope was to create a space where people could come together, feel connected, remember loved ones, and be reminded that no one has to walk through life’s challenges alone.
