Alright Collectors… Let’s talk about another real one:
⚠️ TEMPERATURE OUT OF RANGE!
(aka when the p*e playing games… and not the warm kind)
Fact: The acceptable temperature range for a urine specimen is 90°F to 100°F 🌡️ and MUST be checked within 4 minutes of collection ⏱️.
If the sample is outside that range? 🚩 RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE!
Here’s what you do:
1️⃣ Mark it as out of range on the CCF
2️⃣ Start a direct observation collection (👀 yes, eyes on the stream!)
3️⃣ Document EVERYTHING 📝 like your collector life depends on it… because it does!
Pro Tip: Keep that thermometer locked and loaded! 🔒🌡️
🛑 Skipping this step = major no-no in the collector world.
🙈 We handled shy bladder… now we’re heating things up with temp checks!
