It’s Dr. Caitlin’s first day! We’re so excited to welcome her to the Ponderosa team. 🤩

Dr. Caitlin White, PT, DPT grew up in Placerville and graduated from Baylor University with her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of Southern California. She has a passion and commitment to furthering her education in pelvic health while incorporating her orthopedic training to provide well-rounded care.

Caitlin values one one-on-one treatment sessions to build connections and provide a safe environment for everyone she treats, making her a perfect fit for our clinic.

She grew up playing competitive volleyball and has experienced a fair share of injuries exposing her to the world of physical therapy and sparking her passion for the career.

Outside of work she likes to paddle board, rockclimb, backpack, camp, and search for new trails to hike. 🏕️🥾

If you see her around, be sure to say hello! 👋

When returning to physical activity after a knee injury or surgery, it’s imperative to restore quadriceps strength. 🦵

The quadriceps muscles are the primary stabilizers and shock absorbers of the knee, and how strong they are can be a major indicator of recovery and knee joint health.

On Friday, Dr. Tori McIntire, PT, DPT provided an inservice on measuring knee extension force output to help us better track our patients quadriceps strength, using a force gauge device.

Are you dealing with knee pain or recovering from knee surgery? Call our office today and ask your physical therapist to measure your quad strength to see how you match up to age- and activity-related norms!
