May is High Blood Pressure Education Month!

Your blood pressure is a crucial indicator of heart health. High blood pressure, or hypertension, often has no symptoms and can cause damage to your body without you realizing it.

Getting your blood pressure checked regularly can help you catch hypertension early and create a plan to address it with your provider.

“Early detection of high blood pressure allows us to treat the body as a whole through lifestyle changes, nutrition, stress management, and preventive care—often reducing or even preventing the need for medication later on,” says LeeAnn Bunch, FNP, at the OCH Wellpointe Family Medicine Clinic in Marshfield.

We’re reminiscing about Hospital Week!

Last week, we celebrated our hospital and clinic staff with carnival themed games and snacks. Hospital Week is our time to show appreciation to the people who strive to turn OCH’s mission into reality!

Highlights included: the splash tower, where some of our providers and administrative staff bravely volunteered to sit in the wet seat; the pie in the face contest, where three employees were voted to receive a face full of whipped cream; and, of course, all the money we raised for our Employee Hardship Fund!

To our OCH family, thank you for making this the Greatest Hospital Week on Earth!

May is National Stroke Awareness Month!

At OCH, our Emergency Department wants our community to know the signs, risks, and importance of acting FAST when it comes to stroke care.

That’s why we’re sharing the story "Grandpa’s Crooked Smile" to help children and families recognize the early warning signs of a stroke.

Through this educational book, children can learn how to:
• Spot the signs
• Speak up quickly
• Be a hero during an emergency

With the right knowledge, anyone can help make a life saving difference.
