We’re currently seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our passionate and collaborative team—someone who shares our commitment to empowering children and meeting each child where they are.

Therapeutic Links is looking to hire a full-time occupational therapist. Occupational Therapy license issued by the state of Illinois and NBCOT certification are required. Two years experience preferred, but not mandatory. Minimum twelve week pediatric fieldwork experience.

As you may know, our therapists are trained in Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI). A key concept in MNRI is that retained reflexes can keep the nervous system in more protective or immature response patterns, which may affect participation in daily occupations, school tasks, social interaction, and self-regulation. We assess reflexes at a child's initial OT evaluation to identify those which may be retained, or not fully integrated. Retained reflexes can impact many areas of function. Our therapists utilize MNRI techniques to help the nervous system develop more mature and efficient responses in order to address these functional impacts.

This month we are highlighting 2 reflexes...Hands supporting and Hands pulling. Below are some of the functional implications for each of those reflexes. Talk to your child's therapist if you'd like to learn more about reflex integration activities you can try at home.
