Eli 🧡
Petals drift from a branch above me,
soft and gold, they fall and land,
one small stone rests near the water,
quiet, still, upon the sand.
I miss you today the way I always do now,
soft as petals letting go,
falling gentle, without hurry,
in a rhythm only grief would know.
The tide comes slow to meet the shoreline,
even, steady, nothing rushed,
just like missing you tomorrow,
just like missing you, unhushed.
The branch keeps blooming even softer,
petals scattering like time,
each one falls the way I miss you,
quiet, gentle, paced, sublime.
This stone stays still no matter what falls,
grounded where the water meets,
and I stay steady too in missing,
through the soft and quiet streets.
So I'll miss you here today, tomorrow,
every day that follows this,
petal after petal falling,
love that time cannot dismiss.
