In collaboration with USD 428, the health system hosted a free school sports physical event for area middle and high school students last Saturday, August 1, at St. Rose Medical Pavilion. Numerous physicians and providers, along with nurses, school staff, coaches and volunteers helped serve approximately 230 students. We are grateful to all who participated in this event.

Congratulations to Becky Mooney, LPN, for being chosen as one of 18 recipients for Reach for the Stars scholarship for fall 2026! This special scholarship is for employees enrolled in nursing school and covers all tuition, books and supply costs. Part of a nationwide initiative designed to address the nursing shortage, it was created to help alleviate financial burden for those wanting to become a nurse.

If you are pregnant, join us for a free, 1-day childbirth education class and bring your support person. We recommend this class prior to week 36 of pregnancy.

We’ll cover the labor process and pain control techniques, caring for your newborn, breastfeeding, postpartum care and expectations, what to expect during your hospital stay and a tour of the labor and delivery area of the hospital.

This free class will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with a lunch break from noon-1 p.m. The next class is Saturday, August 22. To register, call 620-791-6811.
