Forward head posture and a tucked pelvis go hand in hand.
When the pelvis parks forward, the lower back curves backward, and the head tends to drift forward to compensate.

The solution is to move the hips backward so your weight sits over your heels rather than the mid or fore foot. This creates a nice, strong, straight “tower” of legs, hips, spine, and shoulders that the head can balance on top of.

Something we talk a lot about in the Gokhale Method is “checking your groove”..

Healthy backs have an even groove depth from top to bottom. This is a reflection of a straight, decompressed spine.

After injuring ligaments in her toes on a hiking trail and being told by her doctor, "it's nothing", Christine thought she sought real answers. A podiatrist confirmed she'd been walking on her toes too much, and she noticed her knees had a tendency to drift inward.

That's when the Gokhale Method changed everything.

By learning natural gait principles, aligning hips, knees, and feet in mild external rotation, strengthening foot muscles, and using her heels properly, Christine transformed the way she bends, walks, and moves through daily life.

The before-and-after photos speak for themselves:

In our last post, we shared a simple but powerful idea: good sitting starts with finding your sitz bones.

So how do you actually do that in a way that feels natural and relaxed?

Most people find that they need a little support at first. Something as simple as a prop under the back of the pelvis can gently tip the body forward so you can balance more easily on your sitz bones without gripping or stiffening.

Think of your pelvis like a bowl: you want it to rest in a slightly forward-tilted position, as if the “water” could spill softly out the front. Or imagine your tail naturally lengthening behind you instead of tucking underneath.

This is the essence of what Esther Gokhale teaches as stacksitting; using support so your structure can organize itself in a more upright, effortless way. A folded towel, a firm cushion, or a specialized support like the Gokhale Wedge can all help you explore this feeling of balanced, relaxed alignment.

The goal isn’t to “sit up straight” by effort, it’s to find a position where your back can let go while your bones do the work.
