Fort Howard Memorial Park is proud to once again host the Brown County Historical Society & Hazelwood Historic House for their annual “If Tombstones Could Talk” series on June 9th from 6:00–8:00 PM.

Step inside the historic Fort Howard Chapel and take a guided walking tour through the cemetery as former Green Bay residents “come to life” to share their stories, memories, and fascinating pieces of local history.

Participants will meet several of Green Bay’s past residents at their tombstones and hear firsthand accounts that helped shape our community throughout the years.

This is an outdoor program, so please dress accordingly. Guests are also welcome to bring a light lawn chair.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Fort Howard Memorial Park, we are reminded every day of the importance of remembrance, reflection, and preserving legacies for generations to come. Today, we extend our deepest gratitude to the fallen heroes whose sacrifice made our freedoms possible.

As family and friends gather this weekend, we encourage everyone to take a quiet moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and to honor those who never returned home.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, peaceful, and meaningful Memorial Day.

This week, we’re proud to feature Kat, one of our dedicated Family Service Counselors.

Kat works closely with families and individuals to guide them through final arrangements with care, compassion, and understanding. With a background in music education and decades of experience working with people, she brings strong leadership, organization, and a thoughtful, personalized approach to supporting every family she serves.

A Green Bay native, Kat spent nearly 20 years in California before returning home to Wisconsin in 2020. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Mike, their giant dog, and two cats. Kat is also a professional musician who performs regularly throughout the area.

We’re grateful to have team members like Kat who help families navigate important decisions with kindness and genuine care.

Today, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of Hmong and Lao veterans.

Their service, often carried out in silence and without recognition, played a vital role in shaping history and protecting freedom. At our cemeteries, we are proud to remember and celebrate these heroes, ensuring their stories are never forgotten.

We stand in gratitude with their families, their communities, and all those who continue to carry their legacy forward.
