“They weren’t just there for my baby, they were there for me.”

When Tricia’s baby boy, Atlas, was born premature, he spent several months in the NICU at St. Vincent Children’s Hospital. Throughout that time, Tricia felt like her doctors, nurses and other members of her care team became like a second family.

Our tiniest patients deserve the very best – and we’re making sure of it!

As planning continues for the $17.2 million renovation of our NICU, we built a full replica of a patient room right here in the hospital. Then, we asked the people who know NICU care best to walk through it and tell us what it needs.

From nurses and physicians to respiratory therapists, infection prevention and environmental services colleagues, our teams are weighing in on everything from the placement of glove holders and outlets to handwashing systems and more.

We can’t wait to show you what’s coming! 🫶
