May is Melanoma Awareness Month, and as the month comes to a close, it’s a good reminder that melanoma can affect people of all skin tones. While darker skin contains more melanin, it does not eliminate the risk of skin cancer.

Protect your skin year-round by:
☀️ Wearing SPF 30+ daily
☀️ Seeking shade during peak sun hours
☀️ Wearing protective clothing and sunglasses
☀️ Scheduling regular skin checks if you notice any concerning changes

Your skin is your body’s largest organ. Taking a few minutes to protect it today can make a difference for years to come.

DC Black Pride began as more than a celebration. It started as a space for Black LGBTQ+ people to gather, build community, and support one another during the HIV/AIDS crisis. Created in Washington, DC in 1991, it sparked a movement that continues today.

From joy to advocacy, DC Black Pride reminds us that community care has always been at the center. At Heart to Hand, we honor the spaces, leaders, and movements that continue creating support, visibility, and access for our communities. ❤️

Celebrate boldly. Care for each other. Know your status.

Grateful for the opportunity to welcome Ka'leef Stanton Morse, HIV Community & Ecosystem Engagement Lead at Merck, to Heart to Hand, Inc. on May 18, 2026, for an impactful presentation and discussion on HIV and Aging.

As our communities continue to live longer, healthier lives, conversations around aging with HIV, quality of life, mental wellness, stigma, prevention, and long-term care are more important than ever.

At Heart to Hand, we believe collaboration between community-based organizations, healthcare providers, and industry partners is critical to ensuring individuals aging with HIV are seen, supported, and connected to compassionate care and resources.

Thank you to our dedicated Heart to Hand staff for continuing to show up, learn, engage, and work together to strengthen the continuum of care for our community.

Special thanks to Ka'leef Morse and Merck for investing in education, partnership, and meaningful dialogue that helps move public health forward.

Today on Hepatitis Testing Day, we honor the legacy of our dear friend and sister, Natalie Cole, a voice of strength, compassion, and advocacy.

Natalie used her platform not only to inspire through music, but to raise awareness around hepatitis and the importance of testing. We carry that legacy forward today.

Knowing your status is an act of care for yourself and your community. Awareness starts the conversation. Testing saves lives. ❤️💋✨

Today is National Asian & Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a reminder that conversations about HIV belong in every community. 💜

Stigma, language barriers, and barriers to culturally responsive care can make testing harder to access. Knowing your status is an act of care for yourself and your community.
