April is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month! Today, we are incredibly proud to share Gerald’s journey. 🧡
Our team sees firsthand the resilience and determination it takes to navigate life after limb loss. We are honored to join the Amputee Coalition this month in their mission to elevate the voices of the 2.1 million Americans living with limb loss and the 28 million at risk.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is when inflammation causes compression of the median nerve as it passes through the carpal tunnel. Repetitive use, arthritis, pregnancy, and injuries can cause inflammation to the tunnel. Common symptoms include wrist pain, muscle atrophy, and decreased grip strength. Therapy plays a role in both conservative treatment and recovery after surgery. If wrist pain and weakness are making daily tasks a struggle, ask your doctor about how your local Baptist Therapy Center can serve you!

Medial tibial stress syndrome, most commonly known as shin splints, causes pain along the front and side of the lower leg between the knee and the shin and can prevent you from participating in your favorite activities. The area may be tender or painful to the touch and painful or aching with activity. Shin splints are usually caused by running and jumping and are most commonly in active individuals. At Baptist Health Therapy Centers, we believe your treatment and recovery should be as unique as your goals Physical therapy can be a useful tool for treating shin splints. Treatments focus on stretching, strengthening, improvin how you move during activities, and education. We will be closed again Wednesday January 28th due to continued poor road conditions. Our plan right now is to re-open Thursday and be open our usual hours Friday but we will continue to monitor in case we need to make any changes to our hours.
