Whether you’re watching fireworks, enjoying a cookout, or simply spending time together, we wish you a safe and joyful Independence Day!

🎇Friendly reminder from your local therapy team: If your little one is sensitive to loud noises, consider bringing noise-reducing headphones, watching fireworks from a distance, or celebrating with glow sticks and sparklers at home for a more sensory-friendly experience.

That’s a wrap on Farris Therapy—Greenbrier’s Water Week 2026!

And what a week it has been! Over the past four days, we’ve watched timid little feet become fearless splashes. We’ve heard contagious laughter echo across the yard, celebrated big victories and small milestones, and seen friendships bloom in the middle of water fights, obstacle courses, and endless summer fun.

Water Week is one of our favorite traditions because it reminds us that some of the best therapy happens when children feel free to play, explore, and be their beautifully unique selves. Every activity was thoughtfully designed to challenge growing minds and bodies while creating moments they’ll be excited to talk about long after summer ends.

To our amazing families—thank you for sending extra clothes, towels, and children who were ready to jump right into the fun. Thank you for trusting us to celebrate their growth in ways that are meaningful, engaging, and full of joy.

And to our incredible Farris Therapy team—words can’t explain the gratitude we have for the planning, the creativity, the energy, and the countless hours that you put into making this week unforgettable. Your passion shines through in every smile, every encouraging word, and every splash.

As we dry out our towels and pack away the toys, we hope your sweet kiddos will keep making waves, keep celebrating progress, and never underestimate the power of play.💦

Day 3—and we’re still making waves! If you asked our therapists to describe today (let’s be honest, the week as a whole!) in one word, it would probably be JOY.

The squeals as the water cannons sprayed. The determination to make it through “just one more” obstacle. The proud smiles after trying something that felt a little scary. The friendships growing one splash at a time. These are the moments we hope our kids and their families remember.

You see, Water Week isn’t about perfect games or staying dry (we gave up on that idea on Monday 😄). It’s about creating opportunities within each therapy session for children to laugh, explore, take risks, build confidence, and simply enjoy being kids.

Behind every splash is a therapist finding creative ways to challenge a skill. Behind every giggle is a child learning without even realizing it. And behind every picture is a memory that reminds us why we love what we do.

Thank you for trusting us with your incredible kiddos. Seeing their personalities shine this week has been the highlight of our summer, and we are thrilled to make even more memories together tomorrow! Bet you all won’t be able to stop smiling as you check out our fun snapshots from today.☺️

It may have been HOT outside today, but our kiddos are absolutely the COOLEST! 😎

Day 2 of Water Week found us giggling, slipping & sliding, smiling, and embracing the opportunities to learn through play. From water games and obstacle courses to sensory exploration and team challenges, our therapists found creative ways to turn summer fun into meaningful therapy. Every splash helps our clients to develop important skills!

💦What a SPLASH-tastic first day of Water Week at Farris Therapy!☀️ There were smiles, giggles, soaking wet clothes, and SO many opportunities to learn through play today.

Did you know? The provision of water play is much more than just summer fun—it actually provides incredible developmental benefits for all children. As our clients splash, pour, spray, scoop, and explore, they’re building important skills like:

🐠 Sensory regulation by experiencing different water temperatures, textures, and movement
🦀 Fine motor skills through squeezing, pouring, spraying, and grasping
🐬 Gross motor skills as they run, jump, balance, and climb
🐙 Strength and coordination while pushing, pulling, and carrying water toys
🐟 Social skills by taking turns, sharing, and playing together
🐡 Language development through imaginative play, following directions, and expanding vocabulary
🐳 Confidence as they try new activities and celebrate their successes

The best part? Most of our little friends don’t even realize they’re working so hard—they just know they’re having an amazing time! We can’t wait for even more water-filled adventures the rest of the week!

The countdown is over—Water Week at Farris Therapy starts TOMORROW! We have an exciting week filled with splashing, laughing, and sensory fun planned for our kiddos, including water games, activities, and our giant water bounce house!

Don’t forget to send your child with:
💧 A towel
👕 A change of clothes
👟 Shoes that can get wet (if you have them)

We’re ready to make a splash while working on therapy goals through play! We can’t wait to see all of our amazing friends having fun this week.
