Poor balance is not just a normal part of aging...

It is actually one of the most treatable conditions in physical therapy - and yet most people who struggle with it never seek help because they assume it is just something they have to live with.

Falls are the leading cause of injury in adults over 65, and the fear of falling can be just as limiting as falling itself. It changes the activities you say yes to, the places you feel comfortable going, and the confidence you carry in your own body.

But balance can be improved... significantly! With the right evaluation, the right exercises, and the right care plan, most patients see real progress.

At Journey PT & Balance Center in Greeneville, TN, we specialize in balance and vestibular rehabilitation. Our therapists identify the root cause of your balance challenges and build a plan specifically around you.

Come visit us - we want to help you!

However you spend your weekend - whether you are out on a trail, working in the yard, cheering on your kids, or simply resting - be intentional with your body.

Move when it feels good. Rest when it needs it. Listen to what it is telling you. Your body works hard for you every single day - it deserves that same care in return.

Move with intent this weekend....

What is the difference between physical therapy and occupational therapy?

Physical therapy focuses on restoring movement, strength, and function in the body - helping you move better, hurt less, and recover from injuries or surgery.

Occupational therapy focuses on helping you do the things that make up your daily life - getting dressed, cooking, working, caring for your family - when injury, illness, or disability has made those things difficult.

Both are one-on-one. Both are deeply personal. And both are available right here at Journey PT & Balance Center in Greeneville, TN.

Sometimes patients need one, sometimes they need both - and our team works together to make sure you get exactly the right care for exactly what you are going through.

Not sure which one is right for you? That is okay! We will figure it out together...

Recovery looks different for everyone...

For some it is getting back to the field, for others it is walking to the mailbox without holding onto something, and for many it is simply waking up without fearing the challenges of the day ahead.

Whatever your recovery looks like, it matters - and it is worth fighting for.

And what we want you to know is this: the distance between where you are right now and where you want to be is not as far as it feels! It just takes someone willing to walk that road with you...

That is what Journey PT is here for - not to rush you and send you on your way, but to intentionally show up for you through learning your story, understanding your goals, and helping you move toward the life you desire most.

The mountains are still there, but so are we.

Did you know Journey PT & Balance Center offers Occupational Therapy right here in Greeneville, TN?

Meet Tori and Nic: two of the most dedicated OTs in East Tennessee and an incredible part of our Journey PT family.

Occupational therapy focuses on helping people restore the ability to do the things that matter most in daily life - from using your hands and arms to recovering function after injury, illness, or surgery. It is deeply personal work, and Tori and Nic are exactly the right people for it.

Tori is a Greene County native, Emory and Henry College graduate, and hand and upper extremity specialist with a holistic approach to every patient she sees. She was recently featured in the Greeneville Sun for her work bringing hand therapy to Journey PT - and we are so proud to have her.

Nic is a Milligan College graduate who loves the variety of OT - working with all ages and all conditions and showing up fully for every single one. Outside of work he is a family man who loves hiking and staying active - and that passion comes through in everything he does for his patients.

If you or someone you love could benefit from occupational therapy, we have the team for it!

Did you know that what you do after surgery matters just as much as the surgery itself?

Post-surgical rehabilitation is the process of rebuilding strength, restoring mobility, and retraining your body to move safely and confidently after a procedure. Without it, patients often experience slower recovery, increased pain, and a higher risk of complications or re-injury.

At Journey PT & Balance Center in Greeneville, TN, our post-surgical rehab program includes:

- One-on-one sessions

- Close coordination with your surgeon and care team

- A personalized plan built around your specific procedure and goals

- Manual therapy, targeted strengthening, and mobility work

- Education to help you stay strong and safe long after discharge

We work with patients recovering from knee and hip replacements, rotator cuff and shoulder repairs, spinal surgeries, ACL reconstructions, and much more.

You put trust in your surgeon, now put trust in your recovery... we are here for that part.

Some clinics are built only for business - but Journey PT was built for people...

Meet Steve: Owner, Physical Therapist (PT, AIB-VRC), and the founding heart behind Journey Physical Therapy & Balance Center in Greeneville, TN.

Steve graduated from ETSU in 1999 and has spent the last 14 years serving this community with excellence. He holds a Vestibular Rehabilitation & Concussion Certification from the American Balance Institute making him one of the most specialized vestibular and balance therapists in East Tennessee - and his expertise spans balance disorders, vertigo and dizziness, concussion management, orthopedics, geriatrics, manual therapy, and neurological conditions.

But what sets Steve apart goes far beyond what is on paper...

He founded Journey PT because he wanted to create something different - a place where healing is built on real relationship, where every patient is seen and cared for as an individual, and where one-on-one care is not a feature but a foundation. Getting back to going places is not just the tagline around here; it is the motive behind every single thing this team does.

Outside of the clinic, Steve is a husband and proud father of seven, a cyclist, a runner, a hiker, and a Sunday School teacher who is deeply rooted in his faith and his community. He believes his work is a calling - and he desires that each patients' heart is reached through that work.

More than just a business, Journey is a mission field. And we are so grateful Steve answered that call.

“Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary." - Isaiah 40:31

Have you ever felt dizzy, off balance, or like the room is spinning and had no idea why?

You are not alone. And there is a good chance vestibular therapy could help...

Vestibular therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that treats conditions affecting your inner ear and balance system - the part of your body responsible for telling your brain where you are in space. When that system is not working properly, it can cause dizziness, vertigo, nausea, difficulty walking, and even trouble concentrating.

The good news? These symptoms are incredibly common - and incredibly treatable.

At Journey Physical Therapy & Balance Center in Greeneville, TN, vestibular therapy is one of our specialties. Our therapists work one-on-one with you to identify exactly what is causing your symptoms and create a personalized plan to address it.

If you or someone you love has been living with dizziness or balance issues and just assuming it is something you have to put up with - please reach out. You deserve to feel steady again.

Every great team has someone who brings both precision and peace - and at Journey PT, that person is Eva...

Meet Eva - Physical Therapist (PT, DPT) here at Journey Physical Therapy & Balance Center in Greeneville, TN.

Eva earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from ETSU in 2023 and is already making a lasting impact on every patient she works with. She is also a Certified Dry Needling practitioner - an advanced, highly effective technique for pain relief and muscle recovery that not many clinics in Greeneville offer. Her specialties include orthopedics, geriatrics, and manual therapy, bringing a hands-on, intentional approach to every single session.

Outside of Journey PT, Eva is someone who values both connection and stillness - spending quality time with family and friends, getting lost in a good book, flowing through a yoga practice, and being outside. That balance of energy and calm comes through beautifully in the way she cares for her patients.

At Journey PT, one-on-one care means you get someone like Eva - skilled, certified, and fully present for you every visit. We are so glad she is on our team.

At Journey PT, we have always said that this place is more than a business - it is a mission field. Robin is living proof of that...

Meet Robin, Physical Therapist at Journey Physical Therapy & Balance Center in Greeneville, TN. A UTC graduate since 1994, Robin has dedicated over 30 years to serving patients with geriatric conditions, post-surgical recovery, and neurological care - and she does it with the kind of grace that comes from a life rooted in faith.

Outside of work she is a wife of 30 years, a proud mom of three grown children, and someone who spends her free time crafting, sewing, painting, reading, and lovingly restoring antiques and old furniture back to their glory.

She restores things - that is just who she is, and her patients feel that every single visit.
