💡 Anterior Placenta Myth vs. Reality

“Will I be able to get good ultrasound pictures if I have an anterior placenta?”

The answer is: Yes, absolutely! ❤️

An anterior placenta means the placenta is attached to the front wall of the uterus, placing it between the ultrasound probe and your baby’s face. This can sometimes make imaging more challenging because we’re essentially trying to see through an extra layer.

The first image shows the placenta sitting directly in front of baby’s face. The second image shows the 3D picture we were still able to capture despite that challenge.

While an anterior placenta can sometimes affect image quality, it does not automatically mean you won’t get great pictures. Baby’s position, fluid levels, gestational age, and cooperation all play a role in what we can see.

Every pregnancy is unique, and we always work hard to get the best images possible for every family that visits us. 💕

✨ Challenging? Sometimes.
