The equation for power= work load/Time. To keep it simple
Move lighter weights fast, before trying to move heavier things in speedy fashion. Do 3x5-7 per leg. Stop when your rep speed slows down, or when your form breaks down.

“All throughout my life I've had tons of different jobs, played many different sports, and have had all sorts of experiences. No matter what I was doing, I was always exercising and moving my body to help me feel better mentally and physically. It was always consistent, so that is what inspired me to make movement my career and my lifestyle. I utilize exercise anatomy and physiology, as well as corrective movements, and of course some fun to help you educate yourself on your body and what you need to reach your goals. No matter what level you're on or need to get to, injuries or not, I strive to make sure you're set up for consistent success! “Steve has limited availability, but is always open to talk and help with anything you need from our full service fitness facility”.

“A lot of athletes find their passion for strength training from previous or current sports. As a young teen I played basketball and soccer, but that isn’t what brought me into the gym. I simply just love to lift weights and to see the benefits it provides other than building muscle. Training with heavy weights has helped improve my sleep, boost my serotonin levels and overall just makes my body feel at its best. I also realized that exercising comes with so much more. It’s not just about lifting weights or running a few miles, it’s about showing up and putting yourself first. My love for strength training has made me realize that I want to guide, and bring more athletes into the gym and show them what they are capable of. This experience can be life changing. Whether it’s gaining muscle, maintaining, or losing weight, even recovering from an injury, I want to be the trainer to support and help you achieve your goals. Since becoming a trainer, I’ve decided to compete as a natural athlete. I soon hope to help athletes with contest prep.”

Transformations happen every day. We get to experience the most amazing moments as trainers. Dr. Ed Funk is 1 of the greatest athletes to join the FRST Strength Family. Since the fall of 2021 Ed’s been working hard 1 day, 1 rep & 1 progression at a time. Today in our personal training session here was Ed’s feedback when we interviewed him;
Ryan:,What’s your Favorite Exercise?
Ed: Long pause “Deadlifts” *Ed’s gym PR is 310 LBS with a competitive PR of 308 LBS. Ed trained hard to set multiple Massachusetts USA Powerlifting Records in the Deadlift, Squat & Bench Press. *See his awards below🏆
Ryan: We developed a relationship with a kind women from Cardiac rehab when we started marketing for the Body Shoppe & eventually FRST Strength. We believe things happen for a reason and it was Mary that refered you to us. Now we understand the reason we were lead there. 🙏 ❤️‍🩹
Ed:” Yes my competitive side came out with resistance bands. I seen people going through the motions, while i was focused on Making progress with bands. 🔥
Ryan: Describe trainng with more than 1 trainer? 📞📡📠🏡
E: “I’ve learned something from everyone” 📱
Ryan: Why did you choose to enter powerlifting as a competitive athlete? 🏃‍♂️
Ed: “I wasn’t able to compete when I was a kid, and I am competitive, so I figured why not”
Ryan: What would you say to someone that is on the fence?
Ed: “Just do it” 🤯
At 79 years young Ed trains 4x a week. We plan on preparing for another competition in the spring, and based on projections, Ed will shatter his PRS. We love you Ed. It’s 1 rep at a time, except when we have to do more than 5. (Powerlifters literal nightmare)

We got over 20 reactions on 1 of our posts last week! Thanks everyone for your support! 🎉
We know life is busy, and occasionally we see something we like but don’t bother to show it some love. When over 20 people stop to read & acknowledge the story it shows that we are making a difference in & out of the strength rooms. Thank you Morgan for making such an amazing Transformation; Amanda’s guidance and professionalism are truly outstanding.
