HB 1855 — Alpha-Gal Syndrome Reporting — passed out of the House Health & Mental Health Committee yesterday 14-0.

This is an important step toward finally understanding how widespread AGS is in Missouri. Right now families, physicians, and researchers are operating in the dark. Without real data, we can’t allocate resources, guide medical education, or develop public-health responses to a growing tick-borne condition affecting rural communities across our state.

The response to this bill has been overwhelming — over 300 witnesses submitted testimony, totaling 344 pages of written statements. It also carries strong bipartisan support with 19 co-sponsors.

The legislation simply ensures lab postive cases are reported to the Department of Health so we can measure prevalence and respond with facts instead of guesses.

Good policy starts with good data—and Missouri families deserve answers.
