Happy Pride Month from ADS 🌈

This June, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and diversity of the LGBTQ+ community while recognizing the importance of creating safe, supportive, and affirming spaces for everyone.

At ADS, we believe every person deserves compassionate care, dignity, respect, and the opportunity to heal and grow while being fully themselves. Mental health and recovery services should be welcoming and accessible to all — regardless of identity or background.

Pride Month is not only a celebration, but also a reminder of the importance of connection, acceptance, and support within our communities. Small acts of kindness, affirmation, and inclusion can make a lasting impact.

To those who may be struggling: you are seen, you are valued, and you deserve support.

ADS is proud to support our community this Pride Month and every month. 💙

Meet Jack Stevenson, one of our nurses at ADS!

I've been working here at Alcohol and Drug Services since October 2022. I've enjoyed and been challenged in learning about drug/alcohol addiction and how pervasive it is in our city and county. I enjoy getting to know and serve our patients through the Medication Addiction Treatment program and helping them overcome their addiction. I enjoy hearing their stories and encouraging them. And I appreciate my coworkers who do a great job and together help make ADS a great place to work and serve our patients!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At ADS, we want to remind our community that mental health matters just as much as physical health. Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, substance use challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you do not have to face it alone.

Healing starts with reaching out, and asking for support is a sign of strength — not weakness. Every person deserves compassion, support, and access to care.

At ADS, we are committed to promoting health and wellness through high-quality treatment, counseling, prevention, and recovery services that help transform lives. We believe recovery and healing are possible for everyone.

This month, take time to check in with yourself and those around you. A conversation, a supportive message, or reaching out for help can make a difference.

If you or someone you know needs support, ADS is here to help.

Terry, Draven, Calandra, and Aileen had a great time representing ADS at the Second Annual IRC Resource Fair hosted by the Interactive Resource Center here in Greensboro! 💙

This event brought together so many incredible organizations focused on supporting our community through housing resources, mental and physical health services, workforce development, recovery support, and more.

We are always grateful for opportunities to connect with community members, share resources, answer questions, and help people learn more about the services available through ADS.

Thank you to the Interactive Resource Center for creating such a welcoming, community-centered event focused on accessibility, connection, and support for all. We loved being part of it!
