We will never turn down a good yogurt + berry parfait to start off the day!

I was grateful to attend the August meeting of the Triad Retirement Living Association (TRLA), hosted by the wonderful Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville.

If you know anyone who is aging (and who doesn’t?), you need to know about the Shepherd’s Center and the incredible programs, services, and activities they provide.

I often refer our clients for their senior enrichment programs (hello, line dancing! 💃), volunteer opportunities, and ways to stay active and connected.

And their newest addition, the Rest Stop ministry for caregivers of individuals living with dementia, is especially near and dear to our hearts at Tailored Brain Health.

Deep thanks for organizations like the Shepherd’s Center that help older adults connect, contribute, stay engaged, and thrive.

Couldn’t ask for a more relaxing and restorative week in Bryson City NC. Full nervous system reset looks like:
- Incredible tiny home living at Rivers Rest Bryson City
- Cold plunge for the feet and rafting excursions at the Nantahala Outdoor Center
- Quick and quirky hike through the Road to Nowhere Tunnel
- Waterfalls and tubing at Deep Creek
- Gorgeous ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad

…and plenty of fresh air, fellowship, movement, and memories!

Today we had the privilege of participating in the Care Fair, hosted by Jewish Family Services of Greensboro, connecting with community members who are passionate about healthy aging and living with purpose.

We were honored to partner with Dr. Patrick Stevens of Medley Health to share the latest evidence on dementia risk factors, treatment considerations, and the lifestyle approaches that help build brain resilience and reduce the risk of both cognitive and physical decline.

Protecting brain health is a community effort! Through education, collaboration, and prevention-focused care, we can empower each other to take meaningful steps toward healthier aging. PurposefulLiving CognitiveHealth Caregivers LifestyleMedicine HealthyLiving

Yesterday was a beautiful day for brain health at The Landings of Rockingham!

We loved spending time with residents and family members talking all things brain resilience — from tai chi and brain-healthy snacks to the powerful impact of modeling healthy habits for future generations. Small, everyday choices really do add up.

And can we talk about this beautiful gathering space?! Spaces that invite movement, conversation, connection, and community are brain healthy in themselves.

It was a pleasure coming “home” to Abbottswood at Irving Park today for our TRLA meeting. A lovely community near and dear to my heart! A thought-provoking discussion around AI in the senior care space was an inspiring way to start the day!

Sipping on a refreshing blueberry and coconut water after a morning well spent engaging curious minds and bringing brain health awareness to the community.

This morning with the Greensboro Newcomers Club was such a gift! What a great group of women.

Thank you for having me and I hope I get to spend more time with many of you at our retreat this October at the Horse Shoe Farm!

Exciting news from today’s meeting with the Triad Retirement Living Association!
We're thrilled to celebrate the launch of TRLA’s new Community Resource Guide—a valuable tool designed to help older adults and their families across the Triad connect with trusted local services. 💙

Our team at Tailored Brain Health is thrilled to be able to share copies with our clients and visitors.

This guide (and this organization) is such a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together to support one another’s health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Navigating today’s world of constant thinking, planning, decision-making, caring for others (both professionally & personally), and always being “on” takes its toll.

Not just on your energy, but on your brain too. It can really wreak havoc.

Join us from October 16th to 18th for Resilient by Nature: a weekend retreat cultivated to help you release the mental strain of Doing. All. The. Things.

Slow down, take a breath, and connect with nature, yourself, and fellow “brain-strainers” through guided experiences and relaxation techniques led by experts, Dr. Jenna Renfroe, Dr. Bethany Wangelin, and Paula Stephens, MS.

If this sounds like the perfect escape for YOUR brain, DM us “ESCAPE” to learn about the accommodations, venue, and all the rejuvenating details!
