Protein is everywhere right now- like Taylor Swift Eras Tour level popularity.

And while protein IS important, you don’t have to turn every meal into a mission to get as much of it as possible.

Protein helps build and repair tissues, supports immune function, and helps maintain muscle.

Your protein needs depend on things like your age, activity level, and health. They can also change throughout your life.

Including protein regularly at meals and snacks can be helpful, but you don’t have to track every gram or hit a perfect number every single day.

And one more thing…protein isn’t the only macronutrient that matters! Your body
needs carbohydrates and fats, too.

Want to learn more about protein, carbs, and fats? Check out our latest Nutrition 101 blog at the link in our bio!

Protein is having a MOMENT. And carbs? Well, depending on which corner of the internet you're in, they may be the enemy. And fat? Some of us still have feelings about the no-fat era. 🙃
But here's the thing: protein, carbohydrates and fat ALL bring something to the table (pun totally intended-you’re welcome.
Each macronutrient has a different job to do, and our bodies need all three. You don't have to make one the star of every meal, cut one out, count every gram or follow a new set of food rules to take care of your nutritional health.
In our latest Nutrition 101 blog, we're breaking down what each macronutrient does, where we find them and why you don't need to obsess over getting them just right.
Because nutrition should help you feel more confident around food, not give you another full-time job.

Have you ever tried to follow a diet, meal plan, or a “what I eat in a day” way of eating that ultimately resulted in you straying far from the plan and into the bottom of a bag of chips?

If you said yes, you are not alone.

One of the appealing things about a diet plan or program is that you don’t have to think about it.

Many of our clients tell us in their first session that they want to stop thinking about food all the time. They’re hoping that we will just tell them what to eat…that we will just hand them a meal plan.

But we won’t ever do that. (Well, there are certain situations in eating disorder treatment where meal plans can be an important tool, but they are never just handed over.)

And here’s why.

It doesn’t work.

Nutrition is not just about the food. It’s not calories in-calories out, eat this not that, limit this, and cut out that.

While what you eat absolutely plays a role in your nutritional health, there is so much more to it than that.

We know that it’s important to first help you become more aware of hunger, fullness, satisfaction, emotions, mindset, and patterns. That awareness creates a foundation for sustainable change because it is based on understanding rather than rules.

Anything that is a one-size-fits-all plan or program, with minimal adaptation and a list of rules to follow, may “work” for a while, but it won’t work for life.

There is no ONE right way to eat for everyone. But there IS a way of eating that can be enjoyable, support your health, help you feel good, and work with your schedule, food preferences, and finances.

And we can help you figure that out.

Food for thought: Are you trying to find “the perfect” way to eat? Or are you learning how to eat in a way that works for your actual life?

Have you ever tried to follow a diet, meal plan, or a “what I eat in a day” way of eating that ultimately resulted in yo...

Spring and summer can bring a lot of shifts: in schedules, routines, and how food shows up in your day-to-day life.

And if you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “I should have this figured out by now,” you’re not alone.

Nutrition therapy isn’t about more rules or trying harder with food. It’s about support that helps you feel more steady, flexible, and at ease…even when life is busy, unpredictable, or full of change.

At Simple Nutrition, we help you:
*find simple, realistic meal and snack ideas
*step out of the diet cycle that shows up every summer
*build more flexibility and less stress around food

And we love it!
