Today my girls and I went downtown and talked to the people. I wish more people took the time to stop complaining about our unhoused neighbors and actually sat and listened. They have stories. They have hopes, dreams, and needs. They deserve so much more than what this city has given them. I promised to spend more time with them AND do more. I felt like I didn’t have much to give but guess what? Some people have less than nothing so if you can help…do it!!!
They’re people too and people don’t have to earn kindness and compassion. Connecting with them helped me to ID gaps in care, resources, and even knowledge for them. Greensboro…we’re about to shake some tables!
P.S. I DO NOT POST VIDEOS OR PHOTOS OF PEOPLE THAT WE CONNECT WITH! People should never have to sacrifice their dignity and humanity for love, help, and support.
