Qi (chee) means your life energy — the vital force moving through you.

Gong (gong) means skill, work, or cultivation — something you build with practice.

So Qigong literally means cultivating your life energy. Not burning it off like a workout. Not zoning out. Actively tending to the energy that keeps you calm, clear, and alive.

That’s why it feels different from other movement. It’s a moving meditation; slow enough to quiet your mind, gentle enough to soothe your nervous system, intentional enough to leave you fuller than when you started. Every breath and motion is doing something underneath the surface.

You’re not just exercising. You’re refilling.

When anxiety has you tight and buzzing, “just calm down” is useless advice — because that feeling isn’t only in your mind. It’s energy, stuck in your body with nowhere to go.

Anxiety, stress, anger and grief in Chinese medicine, these aren’t problems to think your way out of. They’re heavy, stagnant energy that needs a physical way out. When we push them down instead, they don’t disappear. They settle in: the clenched jaw, the racing chest, the exhaustion that comes from holding it all in.

Gentle movement changes that. It gives the stress and anxiety an actual track to move along — a way for your body to process and release what it’s been carrying, safely and without force. You don’t have to relive it. You don’t have to explain it. You just let your body do what it’s been waiting to do: let go.

If you’ve been looking for help in the “letting go” please reach out! I have so many simple and effective tools for you that don’t require a lot of your time!

In Chinese medicine, that’s often your Wei Qi — your defensive energy running low. Think of it as an invisible shield that circulates just beneath your skin, your body’s first line of defense against colds, allergens, and whatever’s floating around this season. When it’s strong, things bounce off. When it’s depleted, you catch everything.

Here’s where breath comes in. Qigong’s deep breathing expands your lungs and gets your lymph moving, the system that helps clear what your body doesn’t want hanging around. Over time, that supports a steadier immune response and a body that’s better equipped to meet cold-and-allergy season head-on.

So before you resign yourself to another stuffy, run-down few months- send me a dm so we can get you back on track and breathing clearly!

If your body is exhausted but your mind won’t stop running, you know this particular kind of lonely.

So much of nighttime restlessness is energy stuck up high and thoughts spinning, everything living in your head while your body waits below, wide awake. Qigong helps draw that energy back down, out of the mind and into the body and feet, so your heart rate settles and your system finally gets the signal: it’s safe to rest now.

A small thing to try tonight: lying down, rest your attention on your feet. Imagine everything heavy in your head slowly sinking down through your body and out through your soles. Let the bed hold you.

→ Save this for the next restless night. 💛

Ever notice your stomach knots up the moment life gets stressful? That’s not in your head, it’s in your gut.

When you’re tense, your body pulls blood flow away from digestion to deal with the “threat.” Helpful in an emergency; not so helpful when the stress never really switches off. Over time, that’s how bloating, discomfort, and a cranky gut set in.

Qigong helps by working the body directly — deep belly breathing and slow torso movement gently massage the organs, invite blood flow back, and coax your system out of “high alert” and into “rest and digest,” where your gut can actually do its job.

Sometimes a calmer belly starts with a calmer nervous system.

If your body’s been braced for so long it feels normal, qigong gently teaches your nervous system that it’s safe to soften — and to rest in the present moment.

Imagine feeling clear instead of foggy. Calm instead of braced. Awake in your own life again.
That’s what happens when your energy is moving the way it’s meant to. Qigong gently wakes up that natural flow clearing what’s been stuck, settling what’s been on edge, and helping you feel like yourself again.

If something in you is quietly saying I want that, that’s worth listening to.

You don’t have to commit to anything or have it all figured out. We can simply talk. A quick, no-pressure call to answer your questions and see if this feels right for you is always the best place to begin.

🌿 Call or message anytime — I’d love to hear what’s bringing you here.

You can understand exactly why you’re wound up and still feel it living in your body; the tight jaw, the shoulders up by your ears, the breath that won’t fully drop. That’s because stress isn’t only a thought. It’s a physical state your body holds onto.

Qigong works on that held tension directly. Through slow, gentle movement and breath, it gives the stress somewhere to go…releasing it from the body rather than just analyzing it in the mind. Your nervous system gets the signal it’s been waiting for: it’s safe to let go.

So on the days your thoughts won’t settle, you don’t have to win the argument in your head. You can simply move — and let your body reset.

If qigong sounds like something that may be helpful for you, please reach out. It can be a beautiful addition to your tool box for your nervous system.

The kind of tired that sleep doesn’t touch is real and it has a name.

In Chinese medicine, that bone-deep depletion often means your Jing, your deepest reserve, is running low. Sleep helps you stop losing energy, but it doesn’t always refill what’s been drained by years of stress, pushing, and running on empty.

This is where qigong is different from most movement. It’s designed to gently build energy rather than spend it…so instead of leaving depleted, you leave a little more filled up, a little more steady.
