Each year, Decatur County Memorial Hospital proudly partners with Decatur County Community Schools to celebrate the successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.

This program, led by instructor Betty Johannigman, RN at South Decatur Jr-Sr High School is offered to students at both North Decatur and South Decatur High Schools.

In recognition of their hard work and achievement, DCMH provides a jacket to each student, individualized with their name and credentials.

The jackets are then presented during a special end-of-year ceremony, honoring the studentsโ€™ dedication, perseverance, and commitment to pursuing a career in healthcare.

We are proud to support these future caregivers and celebrate their accomplishments alongside our valued community partners.

Last Week, Decatur County EMS, in conjunction with Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Decatur County Sheriff's Department, Greensburg Fire Department, and Greensburg Indiana Police Department hosted the first annual Future First Responder Summer Camp, a three-day, hands-on opportunity for local high school students to learn more about a career in emergency medical services, fire service, or law enforcement.

โ€œThis camp was created to give students a realistic look at what it takes to serve their communities as first responders,โ€ said Matt Myers, EMS Manager. โ€œWe hope to inspire the next generation of EMS providers, firefighters, and law enforcement officers.โ€

Yesterday , several members of our leadership team attended the Greensburg Decatur County Chamber of Commerce annual Women in Business conference. At the conference, the attendees learned more about networking, confidence, dining etiquette, and much more, preparing them with tools to take charge in their daily lives.

Additionally, DCMH hosted a table at the event, providing more information about womenโ€™s health and family medicine services.
