Arzo "Skillet" Miller
Arzo Alexander “Skillet” Miller, 90, of Greensburg, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, having attained the age of ninety years, five months and seven days. He was born March 27, 1936, in Greensburg to the late Sam Henry and Lettie Scott Miller.
Arzo was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, church member, and friend. He was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for and caring for his family. With only a sixth-grade education, he built a good life through hard work, determination, and perseverance. He worked for Taylor/Green Ready Mix for several years and later drove a feed truck for Central Farmers Supply for 30 years. After retirement, Arzo continued working part-time at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.
His family was his greatest joy, and he loved nothing more than celebrating the accomplishments of his children. He was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Treasurer, and former Choir President. His prayers were well known, and many could recite them right along with him.
Known throughout the community simply as “Skillet,” Arzo was affectionately considered the “unofficial mayor of Greensburg.” He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He will also be remembered for his trademark toothpick, his Ford Ranger with the “DEACON” license plate, his love of Louisville basketball, and his Diet Mountain Dews. He enjoyed rabbit hunting with his friends and cherished the time they spent together outdoors. He was tenderhearted and could cry at the drop of a hat—especially when it came to his family.
Arzo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clara Miller; his son, Samuel Miller; his stepdaughter, Janet Edwards; his parents, Sam and Lettie Miller; brother Charlie Sam Miller, and sisters: Lillie Mae Wooldridge, Alene Mitchell, and Wanda Barger.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Christina Banks (Cary) and Rev. Josh Miller (Courtney); stepdaughter, Brenda Adkins (JR); and sister, Phyllis Miller of Columbia. His legacy continues through his treasured grandchildren, Kellan Mitchell, Christopher Embry, Jesse Lane, Javon Jones, and Kinleigh Miller; great-granddaughters, Rhylynn Mitchell and Aveyanna Jones; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, church family, and loved ones.
Arzo’s life was one of faith, hard work, family, and service. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
“Skillet” may be gone from our sight, but the love, laughter, prayers, and memories he gave us will remain forever.
Funeral services for Arzo “Skillet” Miller will be conducted at 1 PM Central Time, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Curle and Rev. Mike Ash officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson-Groves Cemetery in Green County, KY.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until 1 P.M. CT until the funeral hour at 1 PM CT Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
