GREENVILLE, KY., Rita Jo Tidwell, 76, of Greenville, KY died Friday, August 28, 2026 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, KY. She was born on October 28, 1949 in Greenville, KY.

The Muhlenberg County native was formerly a member of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church serving as Church Treasurer, Choir Member and Culinary Department. She later became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, in Greenville, KY. She held the position of Choir Member and served on the Matron’s Board.

Her work ethic was exemplified while working in the Deli and Bakery Department at Walmart. Additional areas of employment include Hardees, Burger King, Dairy Queen and Druthers Restaurant. Rita loved the Lord and teaching her children to do the same. She enjoyed watching Gunmoke, The Andy Griffith Show, Game Shows and frequently visiting Chinese Restaurants.

She was preceded in death by both parents, William Bard and Jessie Hawkins Bard; 2 Ex-Husbands; and all 11 of her Siblings.

Survivors include one loving daughter, Glynis Conrad, Greenville, KY; two devoted sons, George Conrad, Jr. and Brandon Conrad, both of Greenville; four grandchildren, LaTosha, Xavier, Autriauna, and Oceanna; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, KY on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 12 Noon with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will be in Old Unity Cemetery in Graham, KY. Rev. Terrence Minor, Eulogist.

GREENVILLE, KY., Zeremba (Jack) Jackson Baker, 76, passed away July 2, 2026, at his residence in Greenville, KY. He was born May 4, 1950, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Zeremba and Virginia Pierce Baker.

Mr. Baker wanted his obituary to begin with this phrase, “I was here, Now I’m not.” He is a child of the King and loved working for the Lord.

Jack was a Marine that served in Vietnam and always lived the Marine Motto, “Once a Marine-Always A Marine.”

Zeremba always enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He would rather be with the kids more than the grownups. Everyone he met was family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Zeremba and Virginia Pierce Baker; brothers, Gene Baker and Joe Baker; two sisters, Bernice Starcher and Lorene Jenkins; one grandson, Bensen Baker.

He leaves behind to carry on his work and his stories, wife, Pamela Baker, Greenville, KY; one son, Billy Jack Baker, White Plains, KY; three daughters, Katrina Buckner, Hopkinsville, KY, Trista Perry, Columbus, Ohio and Olivia McDonald, Rochester, KY; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson; lots of step grandchildren but to him none were step; one sister Fran (Bob) Stockman, Longs South Carolina.

Jeffery Lynn Tyler, 60, formerly of Central City, KY

LEXINGTON, KY., Jeffery Lynn Tyler, 60, formerly of Central City, KY died Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Baptist Health in Lexington, KY. He was born on September 29, 1965 in Greenville, KY.

The Muhlenberg County native was a member in good standing at the Gardenside Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, treasured the membership at the church, and worshipped the Lord lovingly with all his heart, soul, and mind.

His regular employment and hard working ethics were sustained for 25 years at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky where he was loved by everyone. In earlier years, during the span of his High School years, Jeffery worked at IGA in Central City, Kentucky. Everyone loved for him to bag and take out their groceries since he took great care in doing so.

While visiting California, he cooked for the senior citizens and visited with his Mother-In-Law, Gracie Lou and Father-In-Law, James Swain. During his residence in Lexington, neighbors could call on him for anything. Jeffery thrived on being a people person who never met a stranger, which culminated in acquiring a vast number of friends who loved him. Also, his formalwear included tuxedos and menswear consisted of sharp suits. He's favorite hobbies consisted of buying cars, fixing them up and working on different projects.

Jeffery loved unconditionally his wife Gidget. His expression of love was exhibited by a steady, unfailing purchase of gifts for every holiday. In addition, Jeffery loved the following family members: Gracie Lou, (mother-in-law); a beloved friend of over 40 years, Cynthia Buckner. They both would go to Sonic and purchase the Brown Bag Special. He was so happy to see Roy and Doris when they visited as well as Grandchildren; Daughters, Almittie Drake, Zoe Duneghy and Zara Duneghy, Stepson, Zachary Duneghy, Brothers, Roy Tyler and Clarence Parker, Sister, Doris Drake.
During his illness, his world consisted of Praising God and Praying. On his last day of life on earth, Jeffery sat up in bed looking around for the love of his life, his wife, Gidget!

He was preceded in death by both parents, Willie Tyler, Jr. in 1999 and Willie Mae Tyler in 2021.

Survivors include a loving wife, Gidget Tyler, Lexington, Kentucky; 3 daughters, Almittie Drake, Lexington, Kentucky, Zoe Duneghy and Zara Duneghy, both of Owensboro, Kentucky; 1 stepson, Zachary Duneghy, Owensboro, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Paris White, Briella Drake, Zarren Duneghy, James Duneghy and Landon Duneghy all of Owensboro, Kentucky; two brothers, Clarence (Linda) Parker, Greenville, Kentucky and Roy Tyler, Owensboro, Kentucky; one sister, Doris Drake, Greenville, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, KY on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 12 Noon with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

GREENVILLE, KY., Lillie Cozetta Drake, 86 of Greenville, KY entered into rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY.
She was born October 22, 1939, in Greenville, KY to the late Howard and Gertrude Drake.

Her membership was sustained with Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and employment maintained with G.E. for 30+ years as an EDM Vanes Operator.
She enjoyed the simple things in life – time with family and friends, watching westerns with a good cup of coffee (2 tea spoons of sugar). She also enjoyed shopping and decorating. But most of all, more than anything, her grandchildren were her heart.

Loved ones preceding her in death, a significant other, William Lester Jagoe; parents, Howard and Gertrude Drake; two sons, Anthony LaRosa Drake and Michael Van Drake; one brother, William Drake; three sisters, Wilodean Ellis, Yvonne Bard and Mary Jean Baker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories; one son, Jeffery (Karen) Drake, Greenville, KY; two daughters, Tylena Drake and Shea Drake, both of Central City, KY; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; four brothers, Randall Drake, Marietta, GA, Kenneth (Deborah) Drake, Greenville, KY, Ali (Brenda) Drake, Providence, KY and Billy (Buffi) Drake, Manitou; four sisters, Bernice Baker, Louisville, KY, Rita (Jerry) Reynolds, White Plains, KY, Freda Drake, Bowling Green, KY, and Patrice (George) Cox; several nieces, nephews, cousins, distant relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Baker; parents, Lonnie Baker and Ranie Mae Bard; one brother, William Jagoe; one sister, Joyce Jagoe; one granddaughter, Ashton Danielle Bard and great-grand baby boy, Bentley William Rife.
He was a member of New Immanuel in Central City, KY since 2012 and ordained in 2024.

His employment consists of working at P & M Coal Mines, Big Rivers Electric Plant, Plastic Products Co. shift leader and a custodian at Greenville Elementary School.
He graduated from Greenville High School and was a part of the Greenville High School basketball team.

He loved the Lord and was an avid Louisville Basketball fan.

CLEATON, KY., Thelma Louise Cain, 86, of Cleaton, KY entered into rest on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, KY. She was born June 27, 1938 in Greenville, Kentucky. Her parents were Santo and Eva Mae Duncan.

Mother Cain was a faithful, dedicated and oldest member of the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cleaton, KY previously serving on the Mother’s Board, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Church Secretary, Choir Member, a member of the Church Missionary Board and Director of the Children’s Choir. Mother Cain was employed by Sanitary Cleaners in Central City, KY for Aprox. 32 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Cain, daughter, Rev. Joanne Cain, three brothers, Melvin, Richard and June; two sisters, Lillian and Clara; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Cain.

She loved crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies, Judge Judy, game shows and family gatherings.

Robert Louis Sutton, 96, of Browder

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Louis Sutton, Sr., who entered his final resting place on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the age of 96. He passed away unexpectedly at the Maple Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Robert was born on November 4, 1928. He was a devoted father and cherished grandfather. He was a man whose kindness, hard work and passion for life left an unforgettable mark on those who knew him. Robert was a man of quiet strength and boundless love. His greatest joy in life was his family and he devoted himself wholeheartedly to his children, offering them unwavering support, guidance and kindness. His love was steadfast, his wisdom deep and his laughter a source of warmth for all who knew him.

A graduate of Drakesboro Consolidated School, Robert worked as a flagger for Quality Blacktopping. A true car mechanic, Robert found peace and joy working on cars. He could often be found with a wrench in hand, tinkering under the hood of a car. Whether fix a stubborn engine or making simple repairs, his passion for automobiles was matched only by his generosity in sharing his knowledge and skills especially with his sons. To him, cars were more than just machines, they were a way to connect, to create, and to pass down a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Robert will always remember his warm smile, his incredible work ethic and his ability to turn a difficult situation into an opportunity for laughter. He taught us all the value of perseverance, kindness and most importantly, love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Shirley Ann Sutton, whom he loved with all his heart. Their bond was one of true love, respect and companionship. Now they are reunited once more. He is also preceded in death by both parents, Alex Sutton and Bessie Sutton; his two daughters, Wanda Walker and Susie Brown. Though his passing leaves an empty space in our lives, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace, embraced by the love of his life and his daughters.

He is survived by his children, Mary ( Todd) Martin, Robert ( Marcia) Sutton, Jr, Martha Sutton, Jimmy (Jordan) Sutton, Belinda (Travis) Johnson, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and strength; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild who brought him immeasurable joy; one brother, Alex Sutton, Jr.; several brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s; several nieces, nephews, a circle of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Friends and family will gather to honor and remember the incredible man he was during funeral services on Monday, April 7, 2025, 12:00 Noon, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 209 Oak Street, Greenville, KY with visitation Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 5:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. at The Bibbs Funeral Home Chapel and 11:00p.m. Monday until time of service. Burial in New Zion Baptist Cemetery, Hopkinsville, KY. Rev. John Lee III, Officiating and Rev. George Nelson, Eulogist.
