It may be time for surgery if you have chronic pain or mobility issues due to your feet or ankles and you’ve pursued care with a family doctor and tried multiple non-surgical approaches without success.

Does this sound like you? It’s best if you make an appointment with board-certified orthopedic Dr. Michael Jurenovich. His offices are in Niles, Ohio and Greenville, Pa. Both can be reached by calling 888-649-4805. Also, visit his website at www.JurenovichOrtho.com

Having problems with your hip? Your physician may first recommend other treatments. These include medicine for pain or inflammation, walking aids and physical therapy. If you keep on having pain and have a hard time getting around, hip replacement surgery may be an option.

The purpose of most hip replacements is to treat pain and damage from arthritis. In osteoarthritis, long-term wear-and-tear damages the joint. In rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation causes pain, swelling, stiffness, and tissue damage. Traditional hip replacement surgery involves making an incision on the side of the hip (lateral approach) or the back of the hip (posterior approach). Take a closer look at total hip replacement surgeries and what happens after surgery on our website.
